★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m a visitor on holiday from the US. I was on a walking tour in Volos. As I passed the firehouse a firefighter came out and asked if I needed directions to the church. I said yes, he gave me directions, I thanked him and went on my way. On my return I stopped to take a picture of the firehouse and the same firefighter came out again and asked if I would like a tour. I was so impressed by the hospitality and courtesy they extended to me. They fed me homemade spaghetti and sauce, fresh fruit and delicious Greek iced coffee. We chatted about their traditions and American movies. I’ve been to Athens, Mykonos, Paros and now Volos and can say that my visit to the firehouse and meeting with these very brave men, made my trip to Greece. Thank you for your service and incredible hospitality. You are all heroes!
