Αναγράφονται οι νεκροί του Κακοπέτρου, στους αγώνες του Έθνους.
Ιδιαίτερη θέση έχουν οι 33 νεκροί κατά την διάρκεια της Γερμανικής κατοχής 1941-1945.
Ο Κακόπετρος έχει χαρακτηριστεί με το Προεδρικό Διάταγμα 99 της 10/16.3.2000, Μαρτυρικό Χωριό.
Ως «Μαρτυρικά Χωριά και Πόλεις» χαρακτηρίζονται στην Ελλάδα χωριά ή πόλεις τα οποία έχουν υποστεί μεγάλες καταστροφές από ξένους εισβολείς ή κατακτητές σε περιόδους πολεμικών συγκρούσεων. Ο χαρακτηρισμός αυτός γίνεται επίσημα με προεδρικό διάταγμα. Αφορά συχνότερα οικισμούς που έχουν υποστεί μαζικές εκτελέσεις κατοίκων και καταστροφές την περίοδο της Κατοχής (1941-1944).

"Martyr Villages and Cities" are characterized in Greece as villages or cities that have suffered great damage from foreign invaders or conquerors in times of war. This designation is made officially by presidential decree. It most often concerns settlements that have suffered mass executions and destruction during the Occupation (1941-1944).
