Small museum illustrating some of the more modern military events that have shaped the island. Exhibits are mainly photographs with text explanations, and a limited number of artefacts.. A useful addition would be some historical context to assist non-Greek visitors.

The museum is hosted in an underground german shelter built during WW2. The material is very interesting and includes some extremely rare photos of the island during German occupacy. It takes about 90 minutes to go through the material and is certainly worth a visit, if already in Milos. Not clear if a ticket is needed. We were asked to pay something as "a contribution" to the union who maintains the museum artifacts.
