Ο χώρος αποκτήθηκε χάρη στις προσπάθειες παλαιών Γερακιωτών, οι περισσότεροι των οποίων δεν βρίσκονται πια εν ζωή και οι οποίοι προκειμένου να αποκτηθεί ο χώρος ως Κοινόχρηστος δεν δίστασαν κινούμενοι στα όρια του Νόμου να τα βάλουν με μεγάλα συμφέροντα. Εάν δεν ήταν αυτοί σήμερα εκεί αντί σχολείου θα ήταν κάποιο εργοστάσιο (μάλλον εγκαταλελειμμένο γιατί επρόκειτο για κλωστοϋφαντουργία). Το σχολείο κατασκευάστηκε επί Δημαρχίας Γιάννη Παπαδογεωργάκη (τότε Πρόεδρος Κοινότητας Γέρακα). Ακριβώς δίπλα του βρίσκεται η ιστορική πηγή του Γέρακα, μοναδική πηγή νερού για όλους τους κατοίκους και για αρκετά χρόνια. The 1st School of Gerakas. The space was acquired thanks to the efforts of old Gerakiotes, most of whom are no longer alive and who, in order to acquire the space as a Commonwealth, did not hesitate to move within the limits of the Law to put it with great interests. If they were not there today instead of school it would be a factory (probably abandoned because it was a textile factory). The school was built during the City Hall of Giannis Papadogeorgakis (then President of the Community of Gerakas). Right next to it is the historic spring of Gerakas, the only source of water for all residents for several years.
