Had a wonderful stay at the Aegean Star, Elena and her family have been fantastic hosts and so welcoming. The breakfasts are something else. Would recommend staying here to anyone visiting Folegrandos.

We stayed there for 2 nights. The room was excellent, spacious and very clean. The bathroom view of the port was memorable. It is a lovely family run hotel with very nice and helpful people. I really cannot see how people gave a bad rating. I would recommend this hotel to anyone :)

Unfortunately, I have to only give 1 star as the costumer service is really awefull in this hotel. I would not recommend it at all. They indicate on the website that the check-in is possible until 10pm, they do not ask for the exact time of arrival or that we should specify it in advance, and then when we arrived a little bit before 10pm they were literally pissed off and really rude with us. The most awefull welcome that we have ever had in a hotel. In general both owners were really rude and unpleasany, the customer service was inexistant! They also refused to keep our luggage on the day of our check-out knowing that they are really no other places in the village to put our luggage. Our boat was leaving in the evening and the check-out was around noone. Well, they do not have to do it right? I agree... It has nevertheless never been a problem everywhere else. When we then asked in our boat company if we can put our luggage somewhere in the village and we mentioned in which hotel we were, he was not surprised at all and told us that it is a well known hotel address exactly for this reason, apparently the only one in the vilage that never wants to help their guests with luggage.... do not book here if you have other options! There are also some security issues in the room, many cables sticking out walls everywhere, even close to the shower etc. Many written rules hanging on the walls... please see pictures. This was the worst experience that we have ever had and we are travelling a lot. The behaviour of the owners really made our holidays on Folegandros unpleasant.

Worst experience we've had in 30 years of vacations. The owner has serious mental health / drink issues and should not be running a hotel. We booked a room here for a friend for 3 nights. The owner was incredibly rude, aggressive and hostile to the point where she felt physically unsafe in her room. The day before she was supposed to check out, he called her cellphone with a torrent of abuse and threatened to throw her stuff out into the street because he had overbooked the room. We approached him to prove we had booked the room for the extra day. He refused to accept his mistake and then, incredibly, picked up his chair and threw it across the room. The police have been notified, we are in the process of filing a civil assault lawsuit against him and are seeking to have his license revoked. The irony is the friend we booked the room for is a prominent travel writer. Avoid like the plague.

Overall, it was a really disappointing experience. The worst customer experience in Greece, out of the six hotels we've stayed at. To be fair, the spot is nice and the room is clean and cute, even though some things could be better (wires coming out here and there, or the fact that you have a stove, but nothing to cook on it). Our experience was brought down in the negative because of customer service, which was awful, for the following reasons: 1-We were coldly greeted at check-in with reproaches of not calling and arriving late, even thought we were 10 minutes ahead of the official check-in deadline. 2-The hotel refused to keep our luggage after check-out because of a public holiday. So we would've had to carry around our luggage from 11AM to the time of boarding our ship at 8PM, if it wasn't for friendly locals who agreed to help us. We were told by some locals that this is a recurring problem with this hotel. 3-I had all the trouble in the world getting a bill specifying the number of nights and total cost of my stay, and a surcharge of 3euros was asked to get it. Avoid if possible.

The owner was not helpful at all, he told us not to open the airco in the middle of the summer "due to covid" which doesn't make sense because i was in the room with my boyfriend. There was not proper cleaner, the owner was cleaning the rooms with his wife. Also the facilities were pretty mediocre and many more... not recommended.

Charming hotel, very clean, spacious room, comfortable bed, quiet, balcony, fully equipped kitchen. The hotel is managed by a wonderful Greek family that will make you feel home. Good location at the port, easy to go to Chora by scooter / car or bus (ride is very nice and takes 5 min). Highly recommend it!
