M	Manolis Akoumianakis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο Ανδρέας Τυπάλδος Λασκαράτος γεννήθηκε το 1811 στο Ληξούρι. Γόνος εύπορης οικογένειας, είχε την ευκαιρία να σπουδάσει νομικά στο Ιόνιο Πανεπιστήμιο. Το επάγγελμα που σπούδασε δεν το άσκησε παρά στο ελάχιστο, καθώς ακολούθησε την κλήση του στο γράψιμο: εκτός από το σπουδαίο ποιητικό του έργο, εργάστηκε ως δημοσιογράφος, γράφοντας συνήθως λιβελογραφήματα. Ως αποτέλεσμα της ανυπότακτης ζωής και δράσης του –δεν άφηνε καμιά υποκρισία εκ μέρους πολιτικών και θρησκευτικών αρχών «να πέσει κάτω»- αφορίστηκε από την εκκλησία και αναγκάστηκε να ζήσει στην εξορία μεγάλο μέρος της ζωής του. Ποτέ όμως δεν ξέχασε την Κεφαλλονιά, καθώς παρόλο τον πόλεμο που υφίστατο στην πατρίδα του, πάντα γυρνούσε εδώ. Παντρεύτηκε την επίσης Κεφαλλονίτισσα Πηνελόπη Κοργιαλένεια με την οποία απέκτησε δύο γιους και επτά κόρες. Ο Ανδρέας Λασκαράτος έμεινε γνωστός κυρίως για τα καυστικά, σατιρικά του ποιήματα, που αναγνωρίζονται σήμερα ως κορυφαίο δείγμα αυτού του τύπου της γραφής, αλλά και για το ανυπότακτο πνεύμα του, που σε κανένα στάδιο της ζωής του δεν δέχθηκε να συμβιβαστεί. Καταγράφεται ως ένας από τους οξυδερκέστερους Κεφαλλονίτες και από τους σημαντικότερους ποιητές της νεοελληνικής γραμματείας. Το χάλκινο άγαλμα του Λασκαράτου φιλοτεχνήθηκε από τον γλύπτη Θανάση Απάρτη το 1961. Το γεγονός πως έχει τοποθετηθεί με κατεύθυνση τέτοια ώστε να κοιτάζει το Ληξούρι, έχοντας στραμμένη την πλάτη του στο Αργοστόλι, εκφράζει ακόμη και με αυτό τον τρόπο την «αιώνια κόντρα» των δύο μεγάλων πόλεων του νησιού. Πέθανε στο Αργοστόλι το 1901. Andreas Typaldos Laskaratos was born in 1811 in Lixouri. A descendant of a wealthy family, he had the opportunity to study law at the Ionian University. The profession he studied was practiced to a minimum, as he followed his vocation in writing: in addition to his great poetic work, he worked as a journalist, usually writing libel. As a result of his disobedient life and actions - he did not allow any hypocrisy on the part of political and religious authorities to "fall down" - he was expelled from the church and forced to live in exile for much of his life. But he never forgot Cephalonia, as despite the war in his homeland, he always returned here. He also married Penelope Korgialenia from Kefalonia, with whom he had two sons and seven daughters. Andreas Laskaratos became known mainly for his caustic, satirical poems, which are recognized today as the leading example of this type of writing, but also for his disobedient spirit, which at no stage of his life agreed to compromise. He is recorded as one of the most astute Kefalonians and one of the most important poets of modern Greek literature. The bronze statue of Laskaratos was created by the sculptor Thanasis Apartis in 1961. The fact that it has been positioned in such a way that it looks at Lixouri, with its back to Argostoli, expresses even in this way the "eternal opposition" of the two major cities of the island. He died in Argostoli in 1901.
