★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Agia Sofía Square in Thessaloniki is a very lively centre. Also, there is the Agia Sofia church which is actually a copy of the Blue mosque. It's 1/6th of the original Agia Sophia. It's an active church and has Sunday mass. Also, there certain artefacts in the church which are very ancient and magnificently beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one ancient church in Salonic. It is said to be very much like the Aia Sofia mosque in Istanbul and it would be a replica of it at a smaller scale. It seems to me that it does not look any more like her sister in Istanbul.

It is always interesting to visit something from the Bysantine times.

Beautiful historic wallpaintings and a very special atmosphere, perfectly supported by the sacred sounds of greek monks.
