Ένα Μεγάλο Σάββατο το βράδυ, εκείνοι που κατοικούσαν στην περιοχή του Άγιου Στράτηγου, είχαν ανάψει κεριά και έκαναν Ανάσταση. Κάτω στη θάλασσα, κοντά στην ακτή, ήταν μερικά κουρσάρικα καράβια. Όταν οι κουρσάροι είδαν τα φώτα βγήκαν στην ξηρά στη θέση «Πλείστρες» κοντά στο «Γιάλι» και με πολλές προφυλάξεις κατάφεραν να φτάσουν μέχρι την εκκλησία. Επακολούθησε άγρια σφαγή και λεηλασία. Γέμισαν με πτώματα δύο στέρνες που ήσαν δίπλα στην εκκλησία και μέχρι σήμερα υπάρχουν κατάλοιπα οστών. Η περιοχή αυτή λέγεται «κοκαλιάρα» από τους ντόπιους και ιδίως από τους τσοπάνηδες
 ALIKA (THE GENERAL)

When the pirates saw the lights, they went ashore in the place "Pleistres" near "Giali" and with many precautions managed to reach the church. A savage massacre and looting followed. Two cisterns that were next to the church were filled with corpses and to this day there are remains of bones. This area is called "kokaliara" by the locals and especially by the shepherds
