★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Στην κορυφή της Ακρόπολης, σύμφωνα με τον Παυσανία (2ος αι. μ.Χ), υπήρχε ο Ναός της Αθηνάς με το χρυσελεφάντινο άγαλμα της Θεάς που την απεικόνιζε ως Εργάνη, με κράνος με πετεινό,το οποίο κατασκευάστηκε τον 5ο αι. π.Χ. από τον διάσημο γλύπτη Φειδία. Κατά την περίοδο της Φραγκοκρατίας χτίστηκε στην Ακρόπολη φραγκικός πύργος.
Σήμερα στην κορυφή της Ακρόπολης βρίσκεται το εκκλησάκι το Αι Γιάννη και κάποια λιγοστά κατάλοιπα αρχαιοτέρου κτίσματος πιθανόν του φραγκικού πύργου.
 At the top of the Acropolis, according to Pausanias (2nd century AD), there was the Temple of Athena with the ivory statue of the Goddess depicting her as Ergani, with a rooster with a rooster, which was built in the 5th century. e.g. by the famous sculptor Pheidias. During the Frankish rule, a Frankish tower was built on the Acropolis.
Today, at the top of the Acropolis is the small church of Ai Giannis and a few remnants of an older building probably of the Frankish tower.
