★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η αρχαία Θουρία έρχεται σιγά σιγά στο φως χάρη στο έργο της αρχαιολόγου Ξένης Αραπογιάννη. Ο αρχαιολογικός χώρος δυστυχώς είναι κλειστός για το κοινό και περιφραγμένος αλλά ευτυχώς έχουν μπει πινακίδες στο κεντρικό δρόμο (Προς Ασκληπιείο). Τουλάχιστον μπορούμε μέχρι ο χώρος να γίνει επισκέψιμος να πάρουμε μια ιδέα από το εκκλησάκι της Παναγίτσας που βρίσκεται ακριβώς δίπλα και έτσι μπορούμε να θαυμάσουμε το Ασκληπιείο με το ναό του Ασκληπιού και της Υγείας.
Ancient Thuria is slowly coming to light thanks to the work of archaeologist Xenis Arapogiannis. The archaeological site is unfortunately closed to the public and enclosed but fortunately there are signs on the main road (To Asclepius). At least until the place can be visited we can get an idea of the chapel of Panagitsa right next to it so we can admire the Asklepieion with the temple of Asklepios and Health.

If you manage to open it, it is worth a short visit if you are nearby ..

Q I did not visit the archeological site but a church. The archeological site is inaccessible and there are no tickets

1) Mycenaean tholos Tomb (closed but fully visible outside)
2) Asklepieion (fenced but few parts are visible outside)
And uphill (road is unpaved but in good condition)
1) new excavations in "theater area"
2) ancient cistern
3) Mycenaean cemetery
