★ ★ ★ ★ ★ By far the worst place I dined in Astypalaia. The service was incredibly slow ( NOT the waiters' fault. There were 2 waiters for 20+ tables ). The food was mediocre at best. I never received 2 of the dishes I ordered. The prices were normal. Avoid at all costs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I am a bit surprised about the reviews, but hey, we might have just sat there during a busy time.
We had to wait 45 minutes to have the owner take our order(only after we asked him). The rest of the servers just kept passing by to prepare tables for reservation completely ignoring everyone that was already seated.
The food was also nothing extraordinary and took another 30min to get served.
This place has a prime location though so give it a shot if you like it busy and are going there more for the experience rather than the food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very cute place to grab a bite, tucked away under the castle. The owner is just lovely and the portions are relatively large at a reasonable price. Would definitely visit again if we discovered it earlier during our stay. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It doesn't have to be complicated to be good. Simple menu, but very tasty. Friendly staff trying to do their best to please you. Great atmosphere that makes you feel both at home and somewhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice kafeneio on the way to the castle, colourful, with nice decorations indoors. Quick and efficient service, tasty , homemade food. A bit overpriced thought as the cost of dishes is the same like local taverns/restaurants, another negative thing there's no price list so you might end up with a n unpleasant surprise when it comes to the bill.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Can it get more Cycladic than this? In a wee alley Rebetika music rejoices as you smell the kitchen serving proper home cooking. Colorful chairs, colorful dishes and colorful people.
