Just the most picturesque setting and lovely rooms.

Positive: Close to the beach. Negative: Small room with no view.

Positive: Location nice view clean. Negative: No shower curtain.

Positive: Close to everything clean and comfortable . Views of the Chora and castle A Super market bakery cafe nearby. Nice deck area . Yannis picked us up from ferry in early hours of morning. Negative: Every time we used the stove got a nasty electrical shock.

Positive: Wonderful property in an excellent area ! Also the host made our trip so convenient even before we arrive by arranging how to get to the property so many thanks to him !! One of the best islands in order to relax and enjoy your time. I would definitely stay in this property again..

Friendly host helped us with cases & replied quickly to our original contact, yet two others that we contacted at the same time still haven't been in touch. There's business to be had and lost for the sake of a quick email or message. The service at Vive Mare Traditional Studios is very good. The member of staff was happy to check from which port our Blue Star Ferries ferry Patmos was due to leave, either the old port in Chora or the new port in the centre and on the northern side of the island. The apartment is clean and tidy, it has a good sized balcony with a view to the sea to the right across rooftops and down to the harbour. Basic but great apartment with powerful aircon! Kept the apartment at a steady 16/17 degrees which made for a comfortable noghts sleep. It had everything that we would have needed for a longer stay, including cooking facilities in the kitchen area. The apartment was clean, the bed sheets super crispy, fresh and white and the bed itself was very comfortable. Close to beach and lower town & the port of Chora. There is a mini market very close, several bars, a bakery and numerous cafes and restaurants. The walk, rather steep and tiring up to the main town is about 10 minutes but it's well worth it but expect to take a breather for a few minutes halfway up. Worth staying here; OK it had no pool but the beach in the port is no more than 50 metres away, so it's no great hardship. We spent the day on the beach in Chora. But for a couple of nights and at only £27 it makes financial sense. Plus at this time of the year it is convenient for the old port and the Blue Star Ferries Patmos service to Kos & Rhodes, meaning that you don't need to get a taxi or hotel transfer to the port in the centre of the island. There was sufficient parking at the front on the road for the quad that we hired from Kyrannos (separate review of that to follow) and there is parking slightly further away in the old port, next to the old ferry terminal. They were also happy to keep our cases for a few hours whilst we waited for our ferry. The office is also open from early til late, so there's someone on hand if you need help or any other Travel Services from their main office. There is also a useful travel guide and folder in the room.

The owner is the friendliest person you'll ever meet. The room is super clean and they change the sheets and clean every surface everyday. Our 6 days on the island was amazing thanks to the natural beauty of the island itself, but for me it was waking every morning to a breath taking balcony.
