Amazing apartment! Listed on Airbnb as "Kalamaki stone house by the sea". The hosts are incredibly, but really incredibly, hospitable! We recieved tons of fresh fruit and vegetables, bottles and jugs full of local beverages, several fresh home made delicious meals and deserts and much much more during or stay. The farewell package of hand made Cretan goods and hand picked spices and herb tees was so big that we barely squeezed it in our luggage! Well equiped with all you would ever need, stylishly furnished, very clean. Roofed terrace with garden furniture, parking directly by the front door, bus stop 10 meters away. It's 3 minutes on foot to the beach. A grocery store and many great restaurants are within 2-5 minutes on foot away. Phaistos Minoian Palace 15 minutes by car. Optionally nudist Beach Kommos about 5-10 minutes on foot along the coast. Kalamaki itself is a beautifful calm oasis with all the amenities but small enough to avoid evils of mass tourism. The beach is sand and small pebbles, but on most places you need to walk over a flat rocky floor before you get to the swimming depth - wearing water shoes is a good idea, though it's not necessary.

Great apartment! It's listed on Airbnb as "Kalamaki stonehouse by the sea" in case you have trouble finding it. The apartment is well furnished and well equipped, every room has an AC, but we almost didn't need it. Big roofed terrace, so you can enjoy outdoor meals. The hospitality of the hosts is amazing. We were welcomed by table and fridge full of local goods, mostly fruit and beverages, and the host's wife brought us a delicious home cooked meal (like moussaka or stuffed vegetables) on multiple occasions! The hospitality simply blew us away, the hosts were very nice people. I would highly recommend this place!
