★ ★ ★ ★ ★ On the "Koukos" hill of Sykia there was a settlement with a cloister and a cemetery of the Early Iron Age (1050 - 670 BC). The excavation research has revealed remarkable architectural remains, with finds from the everyday life of the settlement dating from the 10th to the 8th centuries. B.C. The metallurgical activity is the reason for the founding of the settlement in Koukos, since there are two metal mines within five kilometers. About 100 tombs have been found in the cemetery of the settlement.
