First Olympics was here 3000~ years ago. Earthquakes and time have damaged much of it. But there's still so much to see and the restoration that has been done is incredible

Ok we docked our sailboat in Katakolo and didn’t even realize how close to Olympia we were, luckily looked up things to do and there is was a 35 min ride to Olimpia. One of the best archeological sites we’ve been to and the Archeological Museum was world class! Honestly you won’t be disappointed. It is a must see!?? we went in May so very few people no line ups.

From all archeological Greek sites I can truly recommend this one. Comparing to Akropol in Athens this has multiple advantages: *not crowded *you can touch different things *you can enter remains of building *there is enough parking places *shops in vicinity have good prices and necessary to buy stuff from Greece In other words - Athens and Olympia RuleZ!

Highly recommend. This site contains temples to Zeus and his wife Hera. It's very easy to walk and there's a lot to see. When I got to the stadium where the games were held during ancient times, I saw people running, as if in a competition. I decided to also run in that space where previous champions ran. There is something awe inspiring about this.

Magical place , full of history and ruins ,indicating importance of sport during antiquity. Man used to practice sport naked on the Olympic stadium and their winning trophy was olives leaf and head band.

At €12 entry to the site and the two museums, this is excellent value! Well worth a visit even if you are not a history buff. NOTE: there is a series of drinking water taps just before you enter the archeological site. Well worth topping up your bottles as it can get very hot out there?

Loved our visit to the site of Ancient Olympia, birthplace of the ancient Olympics, and several of the great temples of antiquity. The natural area is just beautiful and the museum was remarkable. We had a tour with a professional guide (Elena - outstanding!), which was a great way to get the full history.

What an amazing feeling, being to the place where the Olympic idea started, thousands of years before. Beautiful scenery, blended with ancient columns and ruins. The track were ancient athletes run is intact and gives you the chills! People run all over it, trying to get the vibes!! Definitely recommend this place for a visit!!
