Aria Boutique Hotel Folegandros - Chora

Positive: If you are travelling to Folegandros you must stay here! Amazing place amazing people. The view is stunning:).

From a facilities point of view the hotel was very nice, clean and had all comforts. Breakfast was ok but I would rather if it was more traditional greek as you are on a greek island with local goods. However breakfast was ok. The reason for my 2 star review has to do with management only and the way we were treated. That is the reason why I will not visit this hotel again and that is why I am suggesting you not to visit it. The location is ok a few minutes walk from chora. Now there was an event that happened on our wedding day and let me underline this. So 11am in the morning I was in the pool with some friends talking, laughing and having fun. We were about 5-6 people. So I was pulled out of the swimming pool from the boy who was serving breakfast and coffee at the hotel eho asked me to go to the reception. The hotel owner was there waiting for me to tell me off that we were doing a lot of noise from swimming in the pool and we have to be more discreet because one of her other customers was upset. We leave abroad for quite a long time and altough I am aware that greek people are a bit loud generally we were not loud at all at this time and also I could not understand why we should not speak at 11.00am in the morning. I was quite upset as we had a number of rooms booked to this hotel for our wedding and almost 80% of her brother's hotel booked. She claimed that she was in the middle and she had to support both parties us and the other people that were upset. However, she did not support us at all as she only supported her other customers. Let me give you an example of good management then as a reference for your future customers. If you want you can just claim online that the hotel is for people above 50 years old who are not allowed to speak at these times in the communal areas. I am also wondering if there were kids playing in this pool what she would have done? Ask them to be quite becauae they are disturbing others at 11am in the morning? So a good management would have been to apologise for the incovenience caused to this old couple from the noise and explain that there is a wedding event. Offer them a drink and change their room to a more quite one away from the pool. Also they have to make sure that their personel should not speak up on their behalf. Mihalis, the boy who was serving breakfast who doesnt even know me, said that because it is our wedding day we have to show good character when I said that it was unfair to call the bride out of the pool on her wedding day to offend her. I found this attitude very inappropriate and offensive and by the end of our stay no one apologised for this improffesional and poor behaviour. The only thing they did was to offer us a drink and wish us well after our wedding. To be honest I would have changed hotels if I wouldnt have paid in advance on my first day of arrival as I was not feeling comfortable there after that event. I also skiped breakfast for the next 3 days after this event to avoid Mihalis. So that was it hope the review helps other people to avoid bad management hotels as it is more important to be polite than have a clean and pretty room.

Positive: The bed was comfy the Decor was nice. Negative: The pool area was cold due to winds, which I feel is common, we didn’t swim also pool could be heated due to winds, that way u might swim.

Positive: This is a beautiful hotel just minutes walk from restaurants in Chora. There are great views across the sea and up to the church on the hill A perfect place to watch the sunset.

Pros: Friendly staff, amazing view of the sea, close to the center in Hora. And reasonably priced. Thomas was exceptionally helpful and friendly to us and deserves to be commended for his excellent service. Cons: The water pressure and water wasn't especially hot, if you need that (it's a pet peeves of my significant other). No laundry service. Not here or anywhere else on the island, so pack enough so that you don't need to do a wash!

Positive: Location is perfect in the centre of the Chora with the most spectacular view of the sea and sunset. Folegandros is very windy tho and I almost couldn’t sleep because of the wind blowing through our shutters and think this is due to the location as well. The hotel manager is lovely and very helpful. Hotel is spotless and small.. Negative: Bath is supposed to have a jacuzzi but our didn’t work. Also I suggest that guests shouldn’t have to pay extra for coffee and cappuccino at breakfast in a 4 star hotel..

Aria is one of the very few hotels in Chora offering amazing views over the sea. We enjoyed the great location with restaurants and bars at walking distance, very clean hotel, nice pool, excellent service - I couldn't ask for more.

The most wonderful stay at Aria during our visit to Folengandros. We had room 22 which has a huge private front terrace and raised bed overlooking the Mediterranean Sea - and without seeing any of the other rooms we still thought it was probably one of the best the hotel could offer. The hotel was clean and in the heart of Chora which is the most wonderfully alive little town full of bustling streets with beautiful shops and amazing restaurants - if you stay at Aria you will be in the thick of it but also it’s very quiet , perfect spot in our opinion. I must mention Penelope, the hotel owner, who accommodated us so kindly and was an endless open book full of information and sound advice during our stay. She was worth her weight in gold. Nothing bad to say about this boutique hotel, it ticked all the boxes we wanted ticked and Folengandros didn’t disappoint.
