Great hostel! Has everything you need for a comfort stay, good location, nice style. Feels like home :))

Absolutely atrocious behaviour from the managers when I was staying here. I was given a bed when I checked in, went out for the afternoon/ evening. Got back and there was another girl in my bed, all of my stuff was gone. Thankfully I hadn't left my passport there, but the managers saw fit to just move it all without informing me and instead creating a very stressful situation for me as a guest. I literally had to demand another bed and they gave no reasonable explanation. They also cancelled my booking on booking.com so I can't review them there...

I had a bit of a strange experience here. The reception staff are great, super nice - the best thing about the hostel. When the hostel is finished being built completely, it will be a nice space. The rooftop is cool. The things that made it strange: On the first night of my stay, someone used the security code to enter the dorm room at 4am to take a shower, then left. I think it was one of the volunteers (as my roommate at the time told me) but no one communicated that to me. When I mentioned it in the morning, the staff member didn’t seem to think it was a problem. I wasn’t that comfortable with it. The owner was a bit selective with how he enforced the mask rule. I entered one day, took mine off for a minute and was preparing to have a drink. He came to me immediately and told me the fines etc. and to keep it on always. There were guests and staff members within sight without them on but I was the only one approached. I understand that the rules cause some extra stress but the way he handled it came across as pretty rude. The hostel is not completely finished, there are no toilets in the communal area and the ones closest to it don’t have doors. The room didn’t have a fridge, kettle, wardrobe or microwave (as is listed on the booking site). Finally, on my checkout day they marked me as a ‘no show’ on booking.com, so I couldn’t leave a review there.

If you are looking for a hostel where the owners do not want to hire a single worker and make their business work based on volunteers, having a capacity for at least 80 people, this is your place, where they also take advantage of the volunteers and do not provide them with what they need. minimum that must be received in return, besides that they take advantage of people who are in immigrant status and desperately need work or a place to sleep, I volunteered there for two weeks, the owners do not care a bit about the clients and even less except for the volunteers who make this place work, don't be guided by the photos on the pages, they are photos taken digitally, the hostel is not finished and I don't think it's worth giving money to people like that.

The disaster of cleaning I rented a double room, in the first room there was nothing else but a bed! No desk, no chair, no shelf, nothing apart from the bed and the floor :| The sink was not cleaned at all, since there was a soap stain clearly visible over it. Moreover some hair lying on the bed... I complained and the guy at the desk was nice to understand my remarks and decided to give me another room with a "kind of table" and a chair. In the new room I found a dirty towel, again some hair on the bed and a very dirty floor, like it had not been washed since ages. In both rooms the bed linens were full of wrinkles (because they DO NOT iron bed stuff) so it was impossible to understand if the bed linens were used by the previous guests or they were new. Their claim to have implemented additional cleaning measures against covid, it's just ridiculous. Finally in the common room, the table was full of stains and dust, I had to clean it by myself before putting my laptop over it. In the end, I decided to leave the hostel and find another place... the manager's reaction was not so "charming" (I guess he can say the same of mine after such experience), but then we agreed for a refund... after one month, I'm still waiting for it, so I'm going to involve Booking.com support to sort it out and force them to respect the booking conditions.

Definitely an excellent choice when visiting Athens. Modern, high-end but affordable hostel with an indoor pool, gym, recreation room, sun terrace with a hot tub and a stunning view over the capital. Truly a unique way to spend your time in a friendly, fun, clean and safe place. Totally recommend it!

They say: a picture is worth a thousands words... While in this case for the Art Of Living Hostel, words and pictures are not enough to describe how wonderful and unique this place is. Its cozy and Clean in all spaces it has amazing roof view, and you are able to chill at all times up there ^^, big and beautifully made spaces for entertainment. Wonderful unique rooms with comfortable beds and your own bathroom , great aesthetics in all areas. Organized and beautiful kitchen. Perfect location for young people who like the night life of athens and its also great location for tourist who want to be close to historical monuments. I could describe more but i believe you already get the idea and you can verify from other comments too :p All and all in a few words i feel like this is not the typical hostel. its more like a well made thought that became reality. And i love it! I forgot to mention that there were no other places while i was searching on platforms like booking airbnb etc to offer all of these things at such a cheap price. Its more likely that you will have to pay more and get less on other similar hostels. Nonetheless Do your own searching always. In my case i am very pleased with what i found here, and i can see there will be more new things to come along the way from other floors on this building.

Great hostel for the price! Booked a double room to myself and had plenty of space. Only thing that could make it better would be a TV, colder air conditioner and maybe a dresser or more furniture. The staff was generally very helpful and friendly (some of the older staff need to learn to smile at guests). I thought it was safe even though my room code was 2222 which was a bit concerning, I ended up locking my suitcase when leaving just to be sure. The rooftop is AMAZING and I bet they will have some cool events in the summer (especially if the hot tub is working). The basement pool smelled bad but I didn’t stay here for a pool in a dark basement so that wasn’t a concern.
