M	Manolis Akoumianakis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η Ιερά Μονή της Παναγίας Βαρνάκοβας, είναι το πέμπτο αρχαιότερο μοναστήρι της πατρίδας μας. Ο ναός ανεγέρθηκε το 1077 από τον πρώτο μοναχό τον Αρσένιο με την προστασία των Κομνηνών, και όπως μαρτυρεί σχετική κτητική επιγραφή ανακαινίστηκε στα 1448, έπειτα περιήλθε το 1204 στη δικαιοδοσία του Δεσποτάτου της Ηπείρου, οι ηγεμόνες του οποίου κόσμησαν το μοναστήρι. Σε έγγραφο του 1212 αναφέρονται 96 Ιερομόναχοι. Μέχρι την άλωση της Κωνσταντινούπολης η Μονή προστατεύεται από τους Παλαιολόγους. Υπάρχουν αναφορές για την ύπαρξη ελληνικού σχολείου εντός της Μονής μετά το 1530. Η επόμενη χρονική περίοδος 1687-1700 βρίσκει την Μονή στην εξουσία των Βενετών. Στο διάστημα της Τουρκοκρατίας, ήταν το καταφύγιο όλων των διωκομένων ραγιάδων και κρυφό σχολειό, όπου καλόγεροι τη νύχτα, με το καντήλι, μάθαιναν στα Ελληνόπουλα τα λίγα γράμματα που ήξεραν κι’ αυτοί. Σήμερα ο επισκέπτης της Μονής θα βρει φιλοξενία από την γερόντισσα Θεοδοσία και την αδελφότητα των 10 μοναχών γυναικών. Πολλοί είναι εκείνοι που πάνε με τα πόδια για προσκύνημα στην εικόνα της Παναγιάς κάθε Αύγουστο, όπου πλήθος κόσμου συρρέει εκεί από όλα τα μέρη της Ελλάδας. Αξιοθέατα είναι μεταξύ άλλων, τρία σημεία της Μονής. 1) Η εντοιχισμένη κτητορική επιγραφή. Πέτρινη πλάκα μήκους 1,52μ. και ύψους 0,22μ. επάνω από την θύρα εισόδου από τον πρόναο στον κυρίως Ναό. 2) Η βυζαντινή τοιχογραφία της βρεφοκρατούσας Θεοτόκου κατά τον τύπο της Οδηγήτριας. Κατά τον Ορλάνδο κατασκευάσθηκε προ του 1453. 3) Το δάπεδο της Μονής το οποίο είναι μαρμαροθετημένο και εκτείνεται σε όλη την επιφάνεια του κυρίως Ναού και του εσωνάρθηκα, δηλαδή εκτάσεως 100τ.μ. Διατηρεί την αρχική διάταξη και είναι πλούσιο σε παραστάσεις ζωικές και γεωμετρικές. Θεωρείται μοναδικό και άριστο βυζαντινό παράδειγμα του 11ου και 12ου μ.Χ. αιώνα. Η Βαρνάκοβα είναι για την μείζονα περιοχή μας, Ιερό σημείο αναφοράς, παράδοσης και Ιστορίας. Και να μη ξεχνάμε ότι το μεσημέρι της Κυριακής 29/1/2017, το ιστορικό Μοναστήρι, τυλίχτηκε στις φλόγες από άγνωστη αιτία. Ευτυχώς τότε, δεν πήρε φωτιά η δεξαμενή προπανίου. Καταστράφηκε όμως αρχείο 1000 ετών, αλλά διασώθηκε η εικόνα της Παναγίας. The Holy Monastery of Our Lady of Varnakova is the fifth oldest monastery in our country. The church was erected in 1077 by the first monk Arsenios under the protection of the Komnenoi, and it was renovated in 1448, as witnessed by a posses- sive inscription, then fell in 1204 under the jurisdiction of the Despotate of Epirus, whose rulers decorated the monastery. A letter of 1212 mentions 96 Hieromonks. Until the fall of Constantinople the Monastery was protected by the Paleologians. There are reports of the existence of a Greek school within the Monastery after 1530. The following period of 1687-1700 finds the Monastery under Venetian rule. During the Turkish occupation, it was the refuge of all the persecuted racists and a secret school, where nuns with the candlelight learned the few letters they knew in Hellenopoula at night. Today the visitor of the Monastery will receive hospitality from the elder Theodosia and the brotherhood of 10 women monks. There are many who go on pilgrimage to the image of Our Lady every August, where crowds of people flock there from all over Greece. Attractions include, inter alia, three points of the monastery. 1) The embedded property inscription. 1.52m stone slab. and 0.22m high. above the entrance door from the pronaos to the main temple. 2) The Byzantine fresco of the infant Theotokos in the type of Hodegetria. According to Orlando, it was built before 1453. 3) The floor of the monastery, which is marble and extends over the entire surface of the main Church and the Inconartheca, ie 100sq.m It retains the original layout and is rich in animal and geometric representations. It is considered a unique and excellent Byzantine example of 11th and 12th AD. century. Varnakova is for our major region, a sacred point of reference, tradition and history. And let's not forget that at noon on Sunday 29/1/2017, the historic Monastery was wrapped in flames for an unknown reason. Fortunately then, the propane tank did not burn. However, a record of 1000 years was destroyed, but the image of Our Lady was preserved.

Σαν παιδιά, πότε στα κελιά και πότε στους διαδρόμους απ' έξω στρωματσάδα όλοι μαζί, περιμένοντας την καμπάνα να χτυπήσει ξημερώματα Δεκαπενταύγουστου, να πάμε να κοινωνήσουμε! Αργότερα, φοιτήτρια πλέον στο Ιστορίας & Αρχαιολογίας Ιωαννίνων, η πρώτη μου εργασία στην Βυζαντινή Αρχαιολογία του +Αθανασίου Παλιούρα! [Χρονολογία δεν γράφω..., αλλά ήταν πολύ πριν αναβιώσουν το μοναστήρι οι μοναχές...]. Οι γονείς μας, οι παππούδες και οι γιαγιάδες μας, οι νονοί, οι συγγενείς, οι φίλοι, οι συμμαθητές, όλοι από εδώ, και όλοι κάθε χρόνο συνάντηση "στην Παναγία"! Και τώρα που το μοναστήρι δυο φορές δοκιμάστηκε από την πυρκαγιά, και τώρα, χθες, πάλι εκεί βρεθήκαμε! Γιατί τώρα είναι που αισθανόμαστε περισσότερο την ανάγκη Της, κι Εκείνη τη δική μας! Our parents, grandparents, godparents, relatives, friends, classmates, all from here, and all every year meeting "at the Virgin"!
