A fantastic museum, with most interesting exhibitions, which present in an excellent way particularly the Neolithic and Hellenistic/Macedonian eras! The museum staff were very polite and always available to explain more about the broader area of Volos and its importance in the Ancient Greek world and beyond! Congratulations to all who are responsible for such an important achievement! A must see!

My first look at some ancient artifacts since I've been in Greece. This museum does not disappoint. I had a lovely time and got some really great pics.

What a pleasant surprise! A small museum kept us busy for more than two hours! Many interesting and even unique articles, staring from 6.000 years b.c. , carrying history, stories, religion, everyday life, art, feelings and many little secrets that kept our curiosity and interest high. To all above I must add that the personnel was available and polite. A special thanks to Mr. Tzanis, who helped us a lot noticing and understanding the hidden tips of many articles. Congratulations for his interest, knowledge and efforts. A must visit once in Volos!

The museum was disappointing, even on a rainy day with few other things to do in Volos. The exhibits were quite interesting but poorly explained and not put into context. Especially for children it was not very accessible. Also the exhibition is much smaller than the size of the building would lead to assume.

Closes at 15:30, 4€ entry, most explanations are only in Greek and only two sections of the museum are open. Interesting, but not a must.
