Location, staff and nice room. However is very over evaluated for 4 stars, hotel is tiny , breakfast is super basic and simple, nothing interesting to do at the hotel once social areas is really small. Nice stay if you want comfort and location, but I was disappointed with the food, and facilities of the hotel.

I can’t recommend Athens Lodge enough. The hotel is located in a good part of town - walking distance to a ton of great restaurants, and the staff are so friendly! We had to leave early the next morning and mentioned it to the staff (who are there 24/7) and they said they could prepare a takeaway breakfast for us since the breakfast wouldn’t be open by then. So, so kind of them! Do yourself a favor and stay at Athens Lodge!

COCKROACHES..... The hotel price and theoretical high-standing level does not match reality at all. The breakfast is very simple. The rooftop is not furnished. The bedrooms are nice but... the humidity behind the sink and the poor state of the wall made a cockroach come! We asked the staff for a commercial gesture but they stopped answering to us... There are nicer hotels in the area, do not make the mistake of choosing this "fancy" but dirty one.

The location of this hotel is excelent, very clise to Monasteraki square, rooms are clean but I didn't like the design of in room stairs bed, it makes it inconvenient to walk at night.. Breakfast is decent..

Great Lodge/ hotel to stay close to Akropolis and the main attractions. Monastriki square is a few minutes walk, Akropolis plateau around 25-30 min stroll passing through the ruins and Hadrian's library Right next to it is the colorful Alice in Wonderland themed cafe/dessert place, an Instagram site to behold.. Breakfast could be improved and room service but no complaints as we arrived around 0440, with an envelope at the desk and instructions to get in without any hassle. Being right next to the main squares and all the happening places is a big plus.

We arrived early in the morning (4am) due to our plane being delayed. When we arrive the lights were off and no one was inside. We called and messaged the “emergency number” 57 times and no one responded. We were able to stay in a lobby of a hostel near by until morning. Have a full day of traveling from the USA, we were left with no where to go. We booked our room MONTHS in advanced and we’re told that there is 24 hour reception. The receptionist tried to insist that we pay for the full stay even thought she was not here to check us in and we did not get to use that night. We asked to speak to the supervisor and was told that they would not be taking any calls. No compensation was given for our troubles. Due to the hotels lack of responsibility, we were left in the streets in a new country with a new language and our luggage. We were told “due to policy we needed to be charged the full amount” even though we showed up and the hotel did not. We were given the excuse “the power went out so the staff went home”. Every other building surrounding has power and there were lights inside this hotel so I believe that to be an excuse. I would NEVERRRRRR Stay here. They do not take responsibility for their errors and still continue to put the blame on you. This is how my husband and myself started our honeymoon, on the streets.

What is even going on with this place? Avoid, avoid, avoid! Booked a suite room and was instantly emailed that check-in hours are limited and end at 18:00 and that the included breakfast was not going to be available even though I booked a room stating I would receive breakfast! For the price I was paying for a suite room, this was completely unacceptable and unexpected based on all of the stated information online. Thankfully it was a refundable booking so I was able to book at a much nicer hotel for the same price. I cannot imagine if I had booked a non-refundable room...

We were only able to connect to wifi in main lobby. Once we got to our room it turned off. Room was clean and had extra pillows and blankets which was nice due to it being very cold in our room during our stay. The shower was great but leaked throughout bathroom door no matter how much you tried to avoid it.
