Εξαιρετικό! Όμορφο, καλαίσθητο, άνετο, καθαρό και με απίστευτη θέα! Περάσαμε καταπληκτικά και το συστήνουμε ανεπιφύλακτα. Ευχαριστούμε τις ιδιοκτήτριες, την Αλέκα και την Αθηνά, για την φιλοξενία τους, την φροντίδα τους και για το ότι μας έκαναν να αισθανθούμε μέλη της οικογένειάς τους. Όλος ο τόπος αποπνέει Αγάπη Γαλήνη και Ηρεμία. Ευχαριστούμε μέσα από την καρδιά μας! Θα ξανάρθουμε σύντομα και θα φέρουμε και τους φίλους μας μαζί.

Very lovely place. South frontage with panoramic view of the Mediterranean, the islet of Meropi with its chapel, and isthmus which flank the Benaki House. You are above the village and hear faraway sounds of farmyard chickens and twilight barks of distant dogs. The mountains rear up behind and a classic path starts at the end of the drive heading into the olive-groves and cypresses of the steep approaches to hilltop villages. A 15 minute walk and you are in the village, the sea is so clean that you can swim in the harbour, or any number of bays and beaches within a mile. A terrace and table under an olive tree as well as benches and table under a shaded arch, hammock under an olive, easy chairs, ample parking. Lemon, pomegranate, persimmon and of course olive trees, rosemary bushes and flowers adorn the terraces. Beautifully designed house with attention to detail like mesh shutters against mosquitos, outside hot&cold shower, washing machines, wifi, built-in cupboards and beds, big fridge and a nespresso machine. Clean and well-designed, everything you need. Sunset into the Ionian, with the Gulf of Messenia, Cape Akritas and little uninhabited Βenetiko island backlit, the lights of Koroni twinkling some 20 miles across the water to the West. Facing south you get a procession of moon and planets rising out of the mountain and arcing across the ecliptic. Do not believe Virgil. The hospitality and generosity of the hosts, and this area in general, quite exceptional. Great base for hikes into beautiful gorges and villages, exploration of deep Mani, drives up into the brooding limestone hills, day-trip to Sparta, Mystras, Pylos, Messene, Monemvasia, Voidokilias … and everywhere chapels and churches, mostly left unlocked, some plain, some with exquisite paintings many centuries old.
