J	Jacob Millican on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow. The owner is wonderful. He bustles from table to table and MAKES you love Cretan wine. His tastings are informative and the wine excellent. Food is good and appetizer portions generous, but ultimately you are coming here to learn and enjoy high quality local wine. You will also enjoy sitting in the square and watching the predominantly Greek crowd living their daily life and, of course, enjoying a good glass of wine. Thank you, George!

The wine tasting included pretty generous appetizers as well. George was incredibly informative about the various wineries on Crete and we were very lucky as we went in the off season and normally Bakaliko would be closed. We really enjoyed the Petali Liatiko and a Kthma Naoussea (i know..not from crete but it was so delish). Given his extensive collection of wines, we will be contacting George in the future to refresh our wine list when we need some wine from Greece.

The variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options along with original Crete cuisine just amazing! Let aside the outstanding beers selection and wide list of local Cretan wines. Last but not least, mind blowing desserts you can’t pass on ?. You ought to come by and see - taste! - for yourself! If you are in Archanes it is a must.
S	Steven Molyneux-Webb on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent spot: right on the main square with prime viewing of local life, including "local old man" bar next door, plus they do good food and great wines. The owner, George, reality knows his stuff and is passionate about local produce, so you can try Cretan olive oil and honey for free, and do an excellent tailored Cretan wine tasting at great value. And they can cater for vegans, which is not always easy to find! Everything is also available to buy from his deli.

The shop where you can buy local products is wonderful with a great selection and the ability to try different items before you buy. We then ate lunch in the courtyard, where we tried wines, and received recommendations from the shop's owner about wineries to visit and whines to try while we were enjoying lunch. The food was delicious and it was a variety of different cheeses that we had not seen elsewhere in Greece that we were able to try.
