Some nice breads with feta, olives etc and semi-sweet biscuits. Plus cute animal-shaped edible (but hard) ones. Must try!

Tourist trap. 4,50 euro for a very dry bread in the shape of an animal. Don’t buy.

So pleased to have stumbled upon this place away from the masses of tourists just a block away. Delicious baked goods -- the spanakopita and croissant we're hot out of the oven. The baker was so friendly, chatting us up and telling us about his grandfather who started the business. We'll go back again tomorrow I'm sure.

This place is absolutely amazing. Truly left from another era. The tsourekia are delightfully light, perfect for dunking in tea or coffee, but they're almost too beautiful to eat. Thankfully, they also have lacquered versions for decoration. The artistry in the shaping is something for which Rethymno used to be famed; you can even buy a book on the subject (in Greek) at the local Ethnographic Museum. This is the only bakery in the town that continues this art, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Also just go to get a good example of the rusks (paksimadakia) that you find all over the island. The owners are also lovely!

Amazing little bakery. Eaten sweet and savoury goods and everything was delicious. It's family business the older women and men who sells here don't speak much English, but they can manage. The younger man speaks the basics and is really friendly. They have open from 9:00 - 22:00 (but close earlier about 21:50). Their goods are much crunchier than from supermarkets and the pastry has amazing taste - best chocolate rolls and try their vanilla Bougatsa it's amazing. Don't expect fresh pastry right after opening but rather about 10 and they fill the baskets during day. Definitely worth buying

Absolutely the best pastries I’ve had since i arrived 10 days ago. Fresh, hot and tastier than others I have tried. I had the vanilla custard with cinnamon & the spinach pie. Yum!
