The location is ideal, near the city's castle and center. Visit Fonografos under the olive trees, you will not regret it!

But there is good reason to it, 'cause if it weren't for the warmth of her hospitality I wouldn't be back again and again. Alcohol's euphemism is "liquid courage", but in this place is really a remedy, a consolation and a bridge for interpersonal relationships. There, I met so interesting and different people from all walks of life and I had the most interesting interactions and discussions with them. I usually went alone, but by the time I ordered I already had made new friends! Fonographos and Irini, are what I miss the most in rethymnon and the reason I m committed to come back. Once you try the mezedakia and raki, and once you get to know her, you ll see what I m talking about! Enjoy your stay and tell her that the "I-don't-wanna-leave, semi-tipsy, shouting/dancing, fairy-girl" sends you! ❤️

From the very first moment I felt there like home. Irene, the owner and cooker of Fonographos cuisine, is the friend you want to have in a foreign place you visit. I just had moved in Rethimno city and I didn't know almost anyone. Fonographos became my favourite place in the city. It feels like home, it smells like home. I love her traditional way of cooking, her tasteful plates, her warm hospitality, her smile and laugh, the interior decoration. Thank you, Irene. You made my stay at Rethimno city unforgettable. I really miss you.
