We did a day tour to Delphi. I cannot day a bad thing about it. Tour guide Joyce was very knowledgeable and the bus driver was so professional. At one of our stops my husband left his cell phone. We were on the road about 10 minutes before we realized. She called the store we stopped at and they found the phone. The owner of the store met us on the way back to Athens!!!!

I recently took the 1 day tour to Delphi from Athens, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Our tour guide, who was an archeology and art history graduate, was incredibly knowledgeable, and I loved the insights she provided about the sites we were visiting, mythology and Greek history. The sites themselves were gorgeous, and our bus driver was such a pro. The included lunch was set in a beautiful hotel, with an excellent taste of Greek cuisine. I really appreciate everyone involved, and I feel grateful for the trip. I would recommend to anyone, especially given the price!

We had 2 tours. One to Delphi and one to Mycene&Epidaurus! Both were excellent tours! Our tourguide Joyce was so knowledgeable and nice. The bus driver drove very careful! Those were great and interesting days. If we'd stay longer in Greece we would have make more tours with her! Highly recommended !

Attended day trip to Delphi from Athens Tl;dr poor communication & organization, rushed tour, unknowledgeable guide, gimicky tourist stops, no time in Delphi town. Absolute waste of a day & money. Where to even begin. Our travel agency confirmed the day prior the time & pickup at our hotel. Day of, our hotel gets a call asking where we are; apparently the pickup point had been changed to a different hotel, thankfully just a short walk away. For group size, expect a full-size charter bus of people, even in the current climate (Our travel agent marketed it as a small group, but that may likely have been her error. So I am trying to leave that bias out of this review). Also, evidently our tour was a multilingual one, not just English, which had some consequences. Tour of Ancient Delphi was terrible. The guide (Eleni) basically gave us the same information we could've read on the site placards; sometimes she said things that weren't even correct (I say this as someone who has been there before w/ a better guide). Because this was a 2 language tour, she had to give explanations in one language, then the other, meaning there was a lot of standing around waiting. This also might've cut how much information she was able to tell us. Basically, reading the signs was faster & more accurate than the guide we paid extra for. Best part of the entire tour was the free time to wander up the ruins & through the museum. The tour was maybe 20-25 min max, with most of that being shuffling from spot to spot & waiting around for your language description. Had about 1.5 hrs for free time at the ruins & museum, which is kinda short if you want to traverse the entire ruins. Then back on the bus. Our tickets included lunch, which meant no ability to visit local eateries & wander modern Delphi. Instead, we had a pre-set lunch at a hotel outside of town with no view of the mountainside. Felt like a cafeteria with tablecloths. Food was ok for the most part, but since it was prepared for us, there were no choices. 1 hr to eat & then immediately back on the bus. According to the website description, our tour was supposed to drive thru the towns of Levadia and Arachova. I have no idea if we went thru Levadia, as our guide didn't mention it at any point of the trip. We did stop in Arachova for a bathroom break almost immediately after lunch, at a gimicky tourist shop which was the only thing open in town. The tour website mentions something about Arachova being famous for carpets? No clue, our guide didn't mention anything of the sort, only that it's a ski town. Basically we had a 20 min stop to be pressured to buy things from a shopkeeper she presumably had a deal with in an otherwise empty town. Spent more time on the bus than anything. Bus was fine but extremely cold, so pack accordingly. Free wifi on the bus didn't work. Tour company also currently uses an app for whisper communication, so you can hear the guide from wherever. Except we weren't informed of it ahead of time & so I had no headphones to use with it (after using the hotel wifi to download it, as I have limited data abroad). Guide barely explained how to use once & then never mentioned it again. Based on other reviews, I'd guess that the tour quality varies wildly depending on who your guide is. If you have to book with this company, see if you can check beforehand on things like who the guide is, when & where the meetup spot is, & whether it's a single or multilingual tour. Personally, it's not worth the Russian roulette style quality for the price; there are way better options out there. I have been on big group bus tours before. I have been on a big group bus tour of Delphi before. This was not a quality tour in any way, & I would not recommend it to anyone.

I firmly believe that guided tours are essential to truly experiencing the must-see sights of any place! When my mom, my brother and I got to Athens, we decided to see the local attractions through CHAT Tours based on the overwhelmingly positive online reviews. Through the company's "Athens Super Saver City Sightseeing Tour," Dora guided us through the classic Athens sights, most notably the Acropolis, during the day, then Vicki led a tour to the Temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion that evening. Based on this first experience, we happily gave the rest of our time in Greece to CHAT Tours. We visited Mycenae and Epidarus with Stephanie the next day then Delphi with Stathis the day after that. Each tour demanded a fair amount of walking at a moderate pace, but our group included all ages and everyone seemed fine with the activity level. The tour groups perhaps had a couple dozen or so individuals. Because of the group sizes, I wish the company used the radio receivers and earpieces I've seen other companies use, but the guides were still capable of making themselves heard by everyone. The trips to sights outside of Athens were all-day commitments with each excursion including a round-trip bus ride. The travel time varied based on the destination, of course, but every bus featured comfortable reclining seats and even Wi-Fi. For each of the excursions, our guide would offer information on the passing sights or historical or mythological accounts to pass the time but also made it known they would not be offended if anyone napped along the way. As for the guides themselves, they were awesome! They were as knowledgeable as they were captivating. As someone who has always been enthralled by the land's history and mythology, these guides had me frequently mesmerized as they pointed out where famous Greeks once stood or where gods meddled in mortal affairs. The guides verbally reconstructed every important building and artwork we encountered as well as events and traditions that enveloped the area in the past. They all did a great job! My time in Greece would have been incomplete without the fantastic services of CHAT Tours!

I recently returned from CHAT's 4 Day Classical Tour. As an avid traveler with a background in classical archaeology, I was more than a bit skeptical of taking a fast-paced, organized tour with a large group of random people. However, my fears proved to be unfounded because I was extremely pleased with all aspics of the experience: The tour was very well organized so we had enough time to cover the essentials at each of the sites; my fellow participants were interesting people from around the globe - i.e. no selfie takers; and our guide, Joy, was fabulous. Not only is she very knowledgeable but she is also great fun - she is responsible for making what could have been a mediocre tour a wonderful experience.

Our first tours with Effy as our guide were fantastic. Very knowledgeable of the sites along with stories that were related. Using the radio earpiece was helpful as well. The last tour wasn't. No earpiece so hearing was difficult. Overall a great time.
