WORST EXPERIENCE WITH THE OWNER at this hotel while construction was going on literally 10 ft from my room and the owner followed me into my cab while I was trying to leave to harass me. To explain the whole the story... I tried to cancel this hotel within an hour after booking about 1 month before the reservation because I booked the wrong days vs the plane tickets... hoteltonight tried to reason with the owner but he refused to allow the change and when I called him personally he refused to speak to me and demanded I go through hoteltonight.... so at my expense I changed my flights... we get there the afternoon of the 21st and immediately leave to go sight seeing and dinner and come back in the evening. At at 8am on the 22nd we are woken up with loud banging as construction was being done a few feet from our suite. I tried to ignore it but unfortunately with 3 days to relax in Santorini I was not going to deal with construction going on next to my room. I immediately called hoteltonight because when I tried to reason with the hotel a month ago they ignored me and insisted all info go through hoteltonight. When I went to speak to the front desk the owner came out and told me how offended he was with me for going through hoteltonight and not speaking to him first... I stated last time I spoke to him he refused to talk and insisted I go through hoteltonight! I apologized for the inconvenience and simply stated this is my vacation after 15hrs of travel and I don’t want to spend it with a construction site over my head. He then accused me of lying about what time we were woken (I wasn’t sure) I said “I don’t know about 7am?” And he smiled and called me a liar because construction doesn’t begin until 8am as if that’s more acceptable. I asked if he was willing to give me a refund for the 2 nights we are not staying there and he laughed in my face and said it’s the law and he would not be providing any sort of refund... I replied with “okay then we have nothing else to talk about” he then continued to follow me and harass me to tell me how I’m the only person to ever complain about the construction and that I tried to cancel before and I’m using this as an excuse... and then for some reason offered me free nights to not report this and that if he could give me pieces of advice. I lost my cool because he would not leave me alone and told him to get out of my personal space and I just wanted to leave this god forsaken hotel! He followed me all the way to my taxi and put his head in my taxi and kept going on and on and on! He told me he was going to get ME black listed off hoteltonight and call the hotel we were going to so they don’t let me into the hotel and threatened to make us homeless on the island. Apparently the other hotels knew of this owner and his reputation and upgraded us to one of the nicest suites in the entire hotel free of charge because of what we dealt with at the Carpe Diem. On top of everything I saw that he has relisted the room we are still paying for on hotels tonight so he can try to double dip on the profits. The owner Sotiri (I think) is a con man and trust me you don’t want to deal with him or the construction... on a high note the rest of the staff was very sweet and friendly.

Incredible experience. The suites are beautiful, the view is to die for and the head Butler, Thrasos is the most accommodating person we’ve met. He will go above and beyond to make sure you have the best stay.

This resort was amazing and went far above our expectations for a luxury stay. The head butler Thrasos goes above and beyond to make sure your stay on the island is as unique and special as possible. The spa, fine dining, and lavish rooms set this resort apart on this beautiful island. Breathtaking views and gorgeous sunsets await in this little slice of paradise. Marios and the rest of the staff provide the utmost class and professional services to this truly exceptional establishment. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone coming to Santorini!

Worst experience ever. Owner cancelled my booking because he wanted to charge more money. Was extremely rude on the phone and blackmailed me saying if I wrote a review about my experience that he is connected with the authorities and would cause me trouble which made realize most of the good reviews are probably fake as the way I was spoken to and treated on the phone was not anywhere near what the "reviewers" say thy experienced. The service I experienced was that of a 1 star motel. No one should be treated with such disrespect especially at €350 a night. Two thumbs down for this hotel and it's amateur rude owner

My partner and I spent a wonderful afternoon at Carpe Diem, away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Santorini. Called them while in transit between flying in to Santorini airport in the morning and taking a ferry out in the evening. They welcomed us as if we were guests. The service was warm and friendly. We had a wonderful meal, and got superb deep tissue massages at the spa. Went for a lovely two hour walk up to the town of Pyrgos, right above the hotel It reminded me of an older, quieter Santorini of yore.

We had an absolutely perfect holiday here. The staff could not do enough for us, they were all so friendly, helpful and kind. The food was superb, the room was amazing. We could not have asked for anything else. Loved it. Cannot recommend highly enough.

My husband and I have just returned from a one week stay at Carpe Diem. We thought the hotel lovely, as were the views. The food was delicious and the staff were all friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We both had a lovely relaxing massage in the spa. My husband celebrated his birthday whilst we were there and the hotel presented him with a delicious birthday cake and a bottle of sparkling wine. In spite of the wind in October, we had a wonderful, relaxing time.

We had a fantastic honeymoon here. The location is stunning and the staff were brilliant and we were very sad to leave and not stay another week! Location next to Pyrgos village is great and arguably one of the nicest bits of the island with it being far more relaxed than the 2 main towns. Great wine country around too so would highly recommend a trip to some of the local winery's.
