Η Παναγία η Ελευθερώτρια να' ναι μαζί μας!《Αυτοπροαιρέτως αποθανούμεν》... a	antonios varzakis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο ναός έχει βυζαντινό ρυθμό, την σχεδίαση έκανε ο καθηγητής του Αριστοτέλειου πανεπιστημίου κ. Νικόλαος Μουτσόπουλος και την επίβλεψη των έργων έκανε ο πολιτικός μηχανικός και μετέπειτα δήμαρχος της πόλης κ. Χρήστος Τοκαμάνης. Η παραχώρηση του οικοπέδου έγινε από τον τότε δήμαρχο της πόλης κ. Ευάγγελο Παπατσαρούχα. Η επιχωμάτωση των θεμελίων έγινε με βοήθεια της 16ης Μεραρχίας. Το πλάτος του ναού είναι 28μ.το μήκος 42μ. και το ύψος 35μ ενώ το κωδωνοστάσιο έχει 33 μέτρα ύψος. Το επιχρυσωμένο τέμπλο του μοναδικό στην Ελλάδα έχει μήκος 30 μετρά και ύψος 5.5μ Η χρύσωση έγινε από ειδικούς τεχνίτες από το Ιάσιο της Ρουμανίας και το φύλλο χρυσού 22 καρατίων αγοράστηκε από την Νυρεμβέργη της Γερμανίας. Την τελετή εγκαινίων έκανε ο μακαριστός Μητροπολίτης κ Νικηφόρος ο Β’. Ο Ναός πανηγυρίζει στις 28 Οκτωβρίου. Εξωτερικά υπάρχει άγαλμα του Κωνσταντίνου Παλαιολόγου, τελευταίου αυτοκράτορα της Βυζαντινής Αυτοκρατορίας και ο τάφος του Μητροπολίτη Νικηφόρου Β’. The church has a Byzantine style, the design was made by the professor of Aristotle University Mr. Nikolaos Moutsopoulos and the works were supervised by the civil engineer and later mayor of the city Mr. Christos Tokamanis. The concession of the plot was made by the then mayor of the city, Mr. Evangelos Papatsarouchas. The grounding of the foundations was done with the help of the 16th Division. The width of the temple is 28m. The length is 42m. and the height 35m while the bell tower is 33 meters high. Its gilded iconostasis, unique in Greece, is 30 meters long and 5.5 meters high. The gilding was done by craftsmen from Iasi, Romania, and the 22-carat gold leaf was purchased from Nuremberg, Germany. The inauguration ceremony was performed by the blessed Metropolitan Mr. Nikiforos II. The Temple celebrates on October 28. Outside there is a statue of Constantine Paleologos, the last emperor of the Byzantine Empire and the tomb of Metropolitan Nikiforos II.
