★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ο ενοριακός ναός του Γερακίου είναι αφιερωμένος στην Κοίμησης της Θεοτόκου. Ο αρχιτεκτονικός του τύπος είναι τετράστυλος σταυροειδής εγγεγραμμένος με τρούλο. Σύμφωνα με εντοιχισμένη μαρμάρινη επιγραφή στην νότια όψη του χρονολογείται στην περίοδο της δεύτερης ενετοκρατίας (1702 μ.Χ.). Αργότερα προστέθηκε το δυτικό τμήμα με τον γυναικωνίτη και το μαρμάρινο πολυόροφο καμπαναριό. Εσωτερικά σώζονται νεότερος τοιχογραφικός διάκοσμος και ξυλόγλυπτο καμπαναριό. Εδώ τελούνται τα ιερά μυστήρια (γάμοι, βαπτίσεις κ.α.) και οι λειτουργίες της ενορίας.
The parish temple of Gerakion is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin. Its architectural type is a quadrilateral cruciform with a dome. According to an inscribed marble inscription on its south side, it dates to the period of the second Venetian occupation (1702 AD). The western part was later added with the gyneconite and marble storey. Newer frescoes and wood carving belfry are preserved inside. Here are the sacred mysteries (weddings, christenings, etc.) and parish functions.
