Σύμφωνα με την Βικιπαίδεια, ο Ναός Σωτήρος Χριστού κτίσθηκε το έτος 1846 πάνω σε προγενέστερο κτίσμα, αυτό της βυζαντινής μονής του Σωτήρος Χριστού. Είναι τρίκλινος με διπλή κιονοστοιχία από λίθινους κίονες. Το καμπαναριό είναι κτισμένο επί βυζαντινού πύργου και ανεγέρθηκε το 1873. Στον ναό φυλάσσονται δύο σημαντικές βυζαντινές εικόνες του 13ου και του 14ου αιώνα. Μια αμφιπρόσωπη εικόνα (1300 -1350) στην οποία απεικονίζονται η Σταύρωση και η Βρεφοκρατούσα Θεοτόκος η επονομαζόμενη Διδυμοτειχίτισσα, η οποία αποτελεί δώρο του αυτοκράτορα Ανδρόνικου Γ΄ Παλαιολόγου. Η δεύτερη εικόνα είναι η δεσποτική του Σωτήρος Χριστού (αρχές του 1200), και αυτή αμφιπρόσωπη. Στην πίσω πλευρά σώζονται τμήματα από την παράσταση της αποκαθηλώσεως. Λιτανεύεται κατά τη γιορτή της Πεντηκοστής, στο Καλέ-Παναΐρ, σύμφωνα με παλαιά βυζαντινή παράδοση. Και οι δύο εικόνες φυλάσσονται σήμερα, ύστερα από την πρόσφατη συντήρησή τους, στο Εκκλησιαστικό Μουσείο της Μητροπόλεως Διδυμότειχου. Ο Ναός είναι κτισμένος πάνω σε προγενέστερο κτίσμα, αυτό της βυζαντινής μονής του Σωτήρος Χριστού. Beautiful historic church. According to Wikipedia, the Church of the Savior Christ was built in 1846 on an earlier building, that of the Byzantine monastery of the Savior Christ. It is a triple with a double colonnade of stone columns. The bell tower is built on a Byzantine tower and was built in 1873. In the church are kept two important Byzantine icons of the 13th and 14th century. a	antonios varzakis on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Μεταβυζαντινός ναός που ανάγεται στα 1846. Ο ναός είναι κτισμένος ακριβώς επάνω τις Καλέπορτες της Αγοράς, σε απόσταση 80 περίπου μέτρων από αυτές. Είναι τρίκλιτος με διπλή κιονοστοιχία από λίθινους κίονες. Μέσα στο ναό βρίσκονται δύο εικόνες- κειμήλια : η πρώτη, είναι μια βυζαντινή λιτανευτική αμφίγραπτη εικόνα. Στη μια της όψη απεικονίζεται η Βρεφοκρατούσα Θεοτόκος, "Η Δημοτυχητησσα". Στην άλλη όψη απεικονίζεται η Σταύρωση. Η δεύτερη εικόνα είναι η δεσποτική του Σωτήρα Χριστού για την οποία η παράδοση λέει ότι ιστορήθηκε από τον Ευαγγελιστή Λουκά και έχει καλυφθεί σχεδόν ολόκληρη από αργυρή επένδυση. It is three-aisled with a double colonnade of stone columns. Inside the temple there are two icons-heirlooms: the first, is a Byzantine liturgical two-dimensional icon. One of the faces depicts the Infant Theotokos, "The Democritus". The other side depicts the Crucifixion. The second image is the despotic one of the Savior Christ, which tradition says was narrated by the Evangelist Luke and has been covered almost entirely by silver plating.
