Θεωρείται ότι υπήρξε ενοριακός ναός της Επισκοπής Ωρεών στα δύσκολα χρόνια της Ενετοκρατίας , της Οθωμανικής κυριαρχίας αλλά και στα πρώιμα χρόνια του πρώτου ελληνικού κράτους στην Β. Εύβοια.
Εάν αξιοποιηθεί περαιτέρω ο ναός θα αναδειχθεί ως μνημείο της μεσαιωνικής περιόδου της ιστορικής περιοχής των Ωρεών.
It is one of the beautiful and historical temples of the province of Istiaia.
It is considered that it was a parish church of the Diocese of Oreos during the difficult years of Venetian rule, Ottoman rule but also in the early years of the first Greek state in North Evia.
If further utilized, the church will become a monument of the medieval period of the historic area of Orei.
