V	Vas Kar on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Η Ιερά Μονή Τιμίου Σταυρού ή αλλιώς Αγίας Ζώνης κατασκευάστηκε το 1870 και φημίζεται για την πολυπλοκότητα των τρουλων της. Το 1943 καταστράφηκε από τους γερμανούς και πλέον είναι με την μορφή αυτή εως και τις μέρες μας!! Σε ένα υπέροχο σημείο. Σε πιάνει δέος τόσο που την βλέπεις εξωτερικά, όσο και όταν μπεις μέσα, μια που νομίζεις ότι βρίσκεσαι σε κάστρο. Οι τρουλοι, που δεν μπορεί να τους επισκεφθεί κάποιος, σε κόβουν την ανάσα όταν τους κοιτάς από το εσωτερικό. The Holy Monastery of the Holy Cross or otherwise the Holy Zone was built in 1870 and is famous for the complexity of its domes. In 1943 it was destroyed by the Germans and now it is in this form until today !! In a wonderful place. You are in awe both when you see her outside and when you enter, since you think you are in a castle. The domes, which no one can visit, take your breath away when you look at them from the inside.

Papachristos (ICP) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Exaltation of the Holy Cross Abbey (aka “Monastery”) is defined by its thirteen domes and still stands within a picturesque fir-trees forest in a 3,609 ft (1,100 m) altitude (elevation). It was built in c.1770 or 1792. It took eight years for the construction to be completed. It is considered as "the Parthenon of Pindos range.” The abbey is located between two villages—Dholianá and Kraniá. Both villages are in the greater area of Aspropótamos (Greek for “White River,” toponym of river Acheloos) in Trikala county, Greece. Major repairs were reported in 1839–1848 and in 1982–1985. The latter was necessary after the severe damages caused by the Nazi Germans during the occupation in WWII. From 2003 onwards the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is dependent on St. Stephen’s monastery (Meteora).

Inside, on the walls there is no any iconography. The area is incredible, it is located close to Aspropotamos river It celebrates on 14th of September. A fantastic building that deserves a visit.
