Sehr aufdringliche Wirtin, süßer Sirup, süßer Kirschbrandy. Für einfachstes Essen überhöhte Preise. Der absolute Nepp! Nicht zu empfehlen!

Sehr freundlich von Despina bedient worden und lecker gegessen. Kirsch Brandy ist zu empfehlen.

Pour elle vous êtes un porte-monnaie sur pattes, bouffe dégueulasse et patronne malpolie et ignoble, si elle avait inventé le sucré-salé, le concept serait mort avant d'être né.

OK... Wenn ihr wirklich was schräges erleben wollt.. Bitte. Aber ich habe euch gewarnt.. Wir kamen sahen und staunten nicht schlecht.... Der Reiseführer pries es uns als Geheimtipp in Sachen Kräuter und Gewürzen an..... Eingelegte Dinge und Süßspeisen.... Was wir vorfanden war ein Kurios anmutender unaufgeräumter Laden mit Despina in der Mitte.. Ungepflegt.. Verwirrt.. Klebrig... Wir wollten dort Landestypische Sachen verkosten.. Was kam war ein ewiges hin und her.. Wir wollten Süßspeisen und Kaffee und die einzigartige Zimt Limonade.... Sie wollte uns alles verkaufen.. Inklusive Tzaziki und Griechischen Salat.. Letztlich bekamen wir diese Limonade und Schafskäse in Teig aufgebacken... Darüber schmiss sie dann Zimt.... Und klatschte uns ungefragt Honig über den Teller. Dafür wollte sie dann 15 Euro. Wechselgeld rausgeben konnte sie nicht.. Wieder Diskussion.... Im Restaurant gegenüber bekamen wir dann Guten Kaffee. Und Kleingeld um unsere Zeche zu bezahlen.. Bitte spart euch dieses Abenteuer.... Schade...

Ignoriert Empfehlungen aus Reiseführern & Co. Der Laden ist total finster. Irgendwas klebt am Boden. Die Teigtaschen sind trocken. Und von der Dame wird versucht dir alles aufzuquatschen - selbst ein Hotelzimmer.

The hostess is very impolite, not friendly, very intrusive and sticky. The food is nothing more than okay and highly overpriced. The place itself doesn’t look clean, has a weird smell, the bathroom is VERY dirty. The inside tables are inside a very small area, among shop shelves and etc. Moreover, the made food produce for the shop on the trays is just outside the open bathroom. The hostess brought us extra food that we didn’t order, saying nothing, as it was “on the house”, charged for it after the meal. We asked for some of the food take away, all of it was thrown into a food container in front of us, we were all stained with syrup and no one bothered to clean the mess. Absolutely do not recommend! We are not knew to Crete and never before have we seen such rudeness.

Please avoid Taverna Despina in Gerakari. So far the worst dining experience I have ever had in Greece. The owner, a sticky and insincere lady would charge you the high street price for whatever you did not even order and treat you as if you were a hungry stray dog. No nice serving, carelessly cut lumps of cheese etc. We ordered a veal stew, a beans, a cheese pie and one Greek salad, they by some reason brought us also tzatziki, dolmades and two glasses of cherry fruit drink which we did not order and did not even like. For all those we were charged ridiculous 31 Euro which after an argument became 27 (still overpriced). Not to mention that the owner lady didn't give us the receipt. Imagine you ask to pack the leftovers for taking away and they throw sweet pies and dolmades in the same container! They did it in front of me, dripping my hands and stuff with syrup and not bothering to fix the mess. The food was mediocre, being cooked in the same space where they had a local products shop. The servings are rather small unlike commonly in Greece. Greek salad without olives, meat oversalted. When visiting the restroom after the meal I found it very untidy. The worst thing was that the restroom opened into a small room where the food products for their shop (dried fruits or bisquits) were being stored in open trays! Brrr. Absolutely NOT recommended.
