We were staying at the Sentido Elounda Blu Hotel and were recommended Despina by the staff at the hotel. Although the menu seemed a little steep, the food we got completely justified the price.
I had the grilled octopus to start, followed by the black squid ink risotto for main while my wife had the taziki and spit roasted chicken. The food overall was brilliant and I have to commend the risotto, it absolutely delicious.
The staff were attentive, polite and always willing to help and gave us a complimentary raki and dessert.
I would definitely recommend Despina Taverna, it's a lovely place with beautiful views, wonderful staff and delicious food.

We had fresh red snapper, super delicious!!! lots of starters among which I can highly recommend the grilled octopus,

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had dinner there. The fish is all local caught fresh that day. You can choose your fish. Staff was good and cheerful. The view from the outside is great overlooking the bay.
This could be a special meal on a trip to Crete.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is amazing, has great and delicious food! We tried the Cretan Salad, tartar of shrimps, fried mixed fish and calamari and the sea bass fish. All delicious, also has a great service and environment. Thank you! Definitely recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing food and views. Perfect friendly service. I loved everything! Was happy to get my sea urchin fix even though it was not on the menu! Tried many dishes and I think the shrimp tartare was my favorite. Also the carpaccio was amazing! Everything! Highly recommend visiting here.
