Homely food restaurant in the middle of Athens. Daily soups are fixed menu. Delicious bread. Has good house wine. Has a toilet to use. Owner is friendly and kind.

This was my favourite meal in Athens and we ate very well there for a week! A recommendation from a local and did not disappoint. No menu, just sit end enjoy what is brought to your table.

Nice place for authentic Greek food. I had lunch for 2 people including 6-8 small dishes, wine and paid 35€. The food was very traditional and delicious and the atmosphere was great.

This is a very down home rustic restaurant hidden behind some gritty tagged buildings. If you take the time to search for it you'll be glad you did, but only if you're a lover of simple home cooking made with finesse. If you're fussy this might not be the place for you. There is no menu- they will bring you whatever is cooking that day. Everything was simply delicious. Impeccably fresh and served piping hot along with a small copper pitcher of some house made white wine. We paid 28E for two and came away full and happy.

Wonderful local subterranean taverna run by a family. The food was delicious, you get what they make each day, plus it comes with white wine as standard. We don’t eat meat or fish and they provided three delicious dishes of fava beans, stewed aubergine, and chick peas. A great experience !

Small underground restaurant near the market with no menu and food being prepared out of a tiny kitchenette with huge pots of deliciousness. Great experience from the minute you walk in you feel like you are transported to another time surrounded by barrels of wine. Your meal comes with a jug of white wine, grilled sardines, hearty garbanzo bean stew, split pea puree, giant bean dish and of course tomato salad with crisp cucumbers, olives, and crusty bread. We are definity going back.

If you want to eat local dish of fish, a fresh salat & more... next to a glass of home made wine, this is the place. Not fancy at all, no menu, just plain delicious food in the heart of the market. 20 to 30 minutes break in your day.

My favourite place we ate on our trip. Down a graffiti covered side street through a basement door into a cellar restaurant. No menu you just eat what they have made that day. We had some fried fish, zucchini and chickpeas, white bean soup, and a wonderful fresh tomato cucumber salad. Their homemade wine is served in a jug that's set on a block of ice to cool. Such a good meal at Diporto!
