J	John Iliopoulos on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Άγιος Νικόλαος Γραφικό εκκλησάκι λίγο πάνω από την παραλία του όρμου Μπάλου ή Πάλου. Λέγεται ότι η περιοχή πήρε το όνομα αυτό γιατί εδώ οι κοπέλες χόρευαν Μπάλο. Από τον κεντρικό δρόμο στο Ακρωτήρι κατεβαίνουμε (υψομετρική διαφορά 110 μέτρων), στην καλντέρα, εκεί που θα δούμε το ξενοδοχείο Villa Modus Vivendi Το μονοπάτι είναι απότομο και χρειάζεται λίγο προσοχή (χρόνος κατάβασης 15 λεπτά). Η διαδρομή είναι πολύ όμορφη, όπως είναι κάθε φορά που κατεβαίνουμε την καλντέρα ενώ θα παρατηρήσουμε αρκετές χαρακτηριστικές σπηλιές σκαμμένες μέσα στο κόκκινο έδαφος (λέγεται ότι σε κάποιες από αυτές ζούσαν μοναχές). Η περιοχή εδώ τον 19ο αιώνα ήταν λιμανάκι μέσω του οποίου γινόταν η διακίνηση των προϊόντων της περιοχής. Την κατεστραμμένη προβλήτα του, όπως και μισογκρεμισμένα κτίσματα και υπόσκαφα θα δούμε στην μικρή έρημη παραλία δυτικά από το παρεκκλήσι. The route is very beautiful, as it is every time we go down the caldera, and we will see several characteristic caves dug in the red soil (some are said to have lived in nuns). Its ruined pier, as well as half-ruined buildings and caverns, will be seen on the small deserted beach west of the chapel.
J	Joachim Petri on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Es ist ein etwas beschwerlicher Weg zur Kirche, egal von welcher Seite man kommt. Aber sie liegt sehr schön am Meer hinter einem großen Felsen. Neben der Kirche gibt es einen kleinen Strand (ca.10 Meter) mit schwarzem Sand zum Baden. It is a difficult path to the church, no matter which side you come from. But it is beautifully situated by the sea behind a big rock. Next to the church there is a small beach (about 10 meters) with black sand for swimming.

Der Weg zur Kapelle ist anspruchsvoll und nur für trittsichere schwindelfreie Menschen geeignet. Allerdings wird man am Ende mit einem kleinen wahrscheinlich leeren schwarzen Sandstrand belohnt, was in der Hochsaison hier bestimmt selten ist. :) A chapel right on the beach. Unfortunately, when I was there, it was finished. The path to the chapel is demanding and only suitable for sure-footed people without vertigo. However, you will be rewarded at the end with a small, probably empty black sand beach, which is certainly rare in the high season here. :)
