Parken ist nur am Rand möglich und auch Wanderer müssen über die Straße- Vorsicht ist hier geboten.

Parking is only possible at the edge and hikers also have to cross the street - caution is advised here.

A small, colorful church at the bottom of the gorge, near a waterfall and a spring with holy water. Very picturesque

The Greek Orthodox Church authorities should not be autonomous in this section. Such reconstruction issues in such historical places like this, should be authorized and managed only by the Greek Archaeology Offices. The church used to be simple once. Pure white fresco. No strict straight lines and design like it is today...such a pity...
I have completely different childhood memories of this church. It is standing there for so many years, in this historical gorge charadras, having seen the Cretan guerillas fighting the Germans... They didn't respect this history.

It is possible to park a couple of ten meters earlier (towards the north). -the walk to the church is right next to the road, so we did not decide to visit. However, the traffic is quite intense during the season. Worth a stop nearby, not least the canyon is spectacular.
