★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a beautiful and Holy place. It is looked after by a Greek Lady who lives on site. She made us welcome and brought us a pot of traditional Greek coffee. She didn't seem to mind people going into the church in shorts but if wear a hat she will ask you to remove it (with a big smile).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The grounds of the monastery are beautifully kept. Some stunning views. The gift shop is well stocked with liqueurs and oils and honeys (all produced on site). The main chapel is beautiful. The museum contains the loom that the very first Greek Flag was woven on.....how cool is that?
The museum seemed to be mostly about the war as opposed to the being about the monastery itself. This has a €2 entry fee.
The whole experience just felt a little fake......

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful remote monastery in the mountains of Skiathos. It is much smaller than Evangelistria Monastery but also less busy and calmer. The church is beautiful but the damage of the fire is still quite obvious.
Great place to rest after having taken out some of the dogs for a walk from the nearby dog shelter.
And a tip: Ignore the old lady there! She is known in Skiathos to be a bit crazy and rude. Remember that it is a public religious place, and she doesn't own it.
