It used to be the house of the great Greek writer Alexandros Papadiamantis.It is very interesting to see how the people lived in Skiathos many years ago.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A cute little museum. I like how it shows what a traditional Greek house looked like when Papadiamantis lived. I would like more translations to English, as most written things were only in Greek.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ while it is definetely one of the most important historical locations on the island, I'd say that you would not miss much if you didnt visit this one. Sure the traditional house is charming and looks well maintained but apart from that there is not much to see. I'd also would have enjoyed it much more if there was a small tour so we could learn more about the building, Papadiamandis and the island's history as well. Also for some reason photos were forbidden even without flash, cannot understand what's the use of that.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really really believe the entrance should be free for it is something everyone should see but not worth paying for, simply because such places of cultural heritage should not be capitalized upon but open to the public. Also the extent and contents of the house are not much for it is quite a simple and humble former house, although with much historical interest. Pictures are not permitted for some reason and they wouldn't allow touching the copies of papadiamantis' works ?
