★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Μετά το φράγμα ακολουθούμε πινακίδα για παρατηρητήριο και χωριό Κέδρος. Κάνουμε δεξιά και μετά από 2 χιλιόμετρα χωματόδρομου φτάνουμε στο καταφύγιο. Χρειάζεται οπωσδήποτε όχημα 4χ4 καθώς σε αρκετά σημεία εχει μεγάλα νεροφαγωματα και κροκάλες. Το καταφύγιο είναι σε μαγική τοποθεσία και άριστη κατάσταση. Συγχαρητήρια σε όσους το κρατάνε σε τόσο καλή κατάσταση, είναι ένα κόσμημα της περιοχής. Πληθώρα μονοαπατιων ξεκινά από το καταφύγιο ελατακος.
After the dam we follow a sign for an observatory and the village of Kedros. We turn right and after 2 km of dirt road we reach the shelter. You definitely need a 4x4 vehicle as in many places it has large water eateries and cobblestones. The shelter is in a magical location and in excellent condition. Congratulations to those who keep it in such good condition, it is a jewel of the area. A plethora of one-way flights starts from the Elatakos shelter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ωραίο μικρό καταφύγιο από όπου ξεκινάνε πολλά μονοπάτια. Μπράβο στον ορειβατικός σύλλογο της Καρδίτσας για την σήμανση των μονοπατιών!!
Nice small shelter from where many paths start. Well done to the mountaineering club of Karditsa for marking the trails !!
