★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our family stayed at the Farmer House in the village of Magarikari this past summer. If you are looking to experience an authentic Cretan lifestyle, then this is the place for you! The traditional stone house captures the true essence of the regions architecture with all the modern amenities a family needs. Kostas the host went above and beyond with arranging several “off the beaten path” tours for us and took the time to make sure we were comfortable and happy with all the arrangements. He invited us to see the making of “Raki” one evening with local friends and we had an amazing time eating and chatting with the locals. We also had the opportunity to see fist hand and take part in the harvesting of olives and the making of wine! This was an unbelievable adventure for our family and a marvelous education experience for my girls! I highly recommend Farmer House and looking forward to staying there again!!
