★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Από το έτος 1994 οι εκδόσεις “Πέργαμος” υπό την έμπνευση και καθοδήγηση του αείμνηστου Δρ Σπύρου Φίλου, Διευθυντή του Υπουργείου Εξωτερικών, έδωσαν την δυνατότητα σε όλους τους Έλληνες, να έχουν πρόσβαση στα ιερά γράμματα, και να γνωρίσουν ολόκληρο τον γραπτό λόγο του Θεού, στη δική τους ζωντανή γλώσσα. Για πρώτη φορά τότε, στην Eλλάδα και το εξωτερικό, κυκλοφόρησε και η Παλαιά και η Kαινή Διαθήκη σε μετάφραση, στη Δημοτική γλώσσα. Ήταν ένα μεγάλο, ιστορικό και ελπιδοφόρο γεγονός για το έθνος μας και το λαό μας. Ανακοινώθηκε στο Πνευματικό Κέντρο του Δήμου Αθηναίων και μεταδόθηκε στο κεντρικό δελτίο ειδήσεων της κρατικής τηλεόρασης. Ο Σπύρος Φίλος, στο έργο του αυτό, εκτιμώντας την κρίση και την ελευθερία του αναγνώστη, σεβάστηκε τα αρχαία κείμενα, και άφησε τον ίδιο τον Θεό να μιλήσει και να οδηγήσει τον αναγνώστη σε όλη την Αλήθεια. Δεν ακολούθησε την μέθοδο των ερμηνειών και νοηματικών μεταφράσεων, οι οποίες επιδιώκουν θεολογικά δογματικά οφέλη. Εύχομαι οι εν λόγω εκδόσεις να συνεχίσουν αμείωτα το πνευματικό έργο τους στην πατρίδα μας και σε όλο τον κόσμο.
 Since 1994, the publications "Pergamon" under the inspiration and guidance of the late Dr. Spyros Filos, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have enabled all Greeks to access the scriptures, and to know the entire written word of God, in their own living language. For the first time then, in Greece and abroad, both the Old and New Testaments were published in translation, in the Municipal language. It was a great, historic and hopeful event for our nation and our people. It was announced at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Athens and was broadcast on the main news bulletin of state television. Spyros Filos, in this work, appreciating the judgment and the freedom of the reader, respected the ancient texts, and let God himself speak and lead the reader to the whole Truth. He did not follow the method of interpretations and semantic translations, which seek theological dogmatic benefits. I hope that these publications will continue their intellectual work in our country and around the world.
