★ ★ ★ ★ ★ מקום ייחודי ויוצא דופן. יער מאובן על קו המים. דרך עפר סבירה גם עם רכב פרטי. מומלץ למי שחובב מקומות מיוחדים ובלתי מתויירים. ממליץ ללכת מזרחה עוד כקילומטר ולראות את בתי המערות של רועי העיזים, בתוך ערוץ הנחל.
 A unique and unusual place. Fossil forest on the water line. Reasonable dirt road even with a private car. Recommended for those who like special and non-touristy places. Recommend walking east another mile and seeing the cave houses of the goat herders, inside the creek channel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Παιδιά είναι φανταστικό και βρίσκεις παντού στο δρόμο απολιθώματα! Είναι τρομερό και πάρα πολύ εντυπωσιακό το θέαμα! Ειδικά τα εσωτερικά των δένδρων και κορμοί τους, ακόμα και τα φύλλα! Το μόνο λυπηρό της υπόθεσης είναι πως δεν βλέπεις να υπάρχει κάποια φυλάξη...είναι στο έλεος των τουριστών! Είδαμε καμένα ξύλα στοιβαγμένα από φωτιά πιθανώς που άναψαν το βράδυ για ατμόσφαιρα, σκουπίδια πεταμένα τριγύρω από καπνούς και πατατάκια και πεταμένα μαγιό κάτω. Ντροπή! Το χειρότερο είναι ότι κάποιο ανίδεοι χρησιμοποιούν τα αυτοκίνητα τους και πατάνε επάνω στα απολιθώματα όπου βλέπεις πολλά να έχουν αποκολληθεί από το έδαφος και να είναι σπασμένα. Το μέρος ανήκει από ότι μας είπαν στο Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού και όχι στο Δήμο (ότι υπάγεται στο Δήμο Μονεμβασιάς είναι πάρα πολύ οργανωμένο και περιποιημένο από αυτά που είδαμε μέχρι στιγμής τουλάχιστον). Ελπίζω στο καλύτερο γιατί είναι τρομερό το θέαμα και να ξέρεις ότι αγγίζεις απολιθώματα εκατομμυρίων ετών!
Guys it is fantastic and you find fossils everywhere on the street! The spectacle is terrible and very impressive! Especially the interiors of the trees and their trunks, even the leaves! The only sad thing about the case is that you do not see any security ... it is at the mercy of tourists! We saw burnt wood stacked by fire probably lit at night for atmosphere, garbage thrown around by smoke and chips and swimsuits thrown down. Shame! The worst part is that some ignorant people use their cars and step on the fossils where you see many of them detached from the ground and broken. The place belongs to what we were told in the Ministry of Culture and not in the Municipality (that it belongs to the Municipality of Monemvasia is very organized and tidy from what we have seen so far at least). I hope for the best because the spectacle is terrible and you know that you are touching fossils of millions of years!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful fossil forest nature however the stones can hurt you, so you have to have shoes for climbing the walls. the place is unique and exceptional; still not touched by human.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A well preserved petrified forest that is off the beaten path. If you are willing to make the trip you will be rewarded with spectacular views and three distinct coves with crystal clear water and fossil remnants everywhere. The road is rough on rental cars so make sure you vehicle has good clearance or take it very slow
