★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Five stars are too little for this tavern, it's a family business taken to absuolutly new level. For a great price you'll get best food in Crete acompanied with great made-on-spot barreled wine. Defenetly must-see!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A place where everyone has a candlelight dinner in a cozy environment. Amazing food and wine. Better to go there with a Greek friend because it is easy to get lost or confused with the route. We paid 15 Euros per person and had enough food and wine for everyone. The entrance to the dining area is through the kitchen where you can see the preparations. Wine is refilled into jugs directly from the barrels by the guests. The hosts are very nice, however, language might be a barrier for foreign visitors.
A must place to visit to experience authentic Cretan cuisine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to eat outside Heraklion, at the village of Kiparisi. Great food that keeps on coming dish after dish. Home cooked feeling, lots of variety and amazing atmosphere. For a fixed price experience it was superb. Please be aware that the GPS may take you there via the side roads. In that case the scenery is amazing but the driving experience not that much.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the most unique experiences. The ambience is absolutely fantastic! The dark cellar with the light of the candles result in an experience no alike other.
The price is fixed at 15€ per person for all you can eat and drink. You can choose from every wine you can find in the cellar. The food has great quality and variety. You can eat as much as you can handle.
I will visit again for sure and you should too.

We took the route that we thought looked easier, but it was actually through vineyards and dirt roads. Take the route we circled—it’s paved!

The tavern/cave is operating with candlelight, creating a very romantic environment, perfect for a wintery night. Would definitely recommend. Giannis, the owner of the tavern is also a very friendly host!
