★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gratini Dam is located 1.5 km northwest of the village Gratini and 10 km northeast to Komotini, along Amygdalorema stream.
The dam was completed at 2001, and it was made for the purpose of providing water to cover the power unit cooling needs of the Komotini SES, operated by PPC.
The dam has a height of 53m and its length is 392m.
The construction of the dam led to the creation of a charming and picturesque lake, about two kilometers long, that is hidden between the mountains.
