In those years there was the oldest church in Akrotiri, which even today there is "Michael the Archangel" in Vothonas, where there are still ruins of an old settlement with the same name. Every year, the Akrotiri people used to celebrate the Resurrection together with "Michael the Archangel". That year, however, the Sternians were late and when they reached Argoulide, the bell of the Resurrection rang. Of course, they felt a great "insult"! They made their cross, wished each other well, and all made a promise: Time to have their own church! They said they took a stone and when they reached the village, they stood and threw the stones in a different direction, where the stones fell they built a church. Thus it is explained that in the middle of the village there are seven (7) churches nearby and specifically: 1) Evangelism - Saint George, 2) Savior Christ (old church), 3) Hagia Sophia, 4) Saint Anthony, 5) Holy Trinity (Pantocrator) , 6) Saint John the Theologian, 7) Michael the Archangel.
