10 out of 15 package transfers to Greece were corrupted. Some letters never arrived, most packages were outrageously late (I'm still waiting for a package of 3 months overdue), the contents of some packages were severely damaged during transport and some were sent back to the sender for no apparent reason, while never giving any proper form of customer service. The Elta post really reflects the the state of this country; it's broken.

I wish there was something - star how terribly poor handling they have even when the package arrives this is worst , they say call we can not answer email/FB and When u call them gonna wait before they answer maximum of 20/30 minutes and once you they answer ur call after they have taken the tracking number they will put u on hold and then hand up you. It's so disrespectful how they behave..

Maybe the worst postal service in the world. Hope they are bought by a private company sometime to start serving us...

A gift of some chocolate biscuits for my daughter arrived last month. The value was calculated as 18.50euro by the customs office converted from Australian dollars. I was charged 23.12euro to accept the package. I have called and sent emails many times asking for an explanation of how this amount was calculated, with no reply. I have been overcharged by atleast 15euro based on the ELTA current pricelist. They provide a substandard service and they charge whatever they feel like. When will the government review their efficiency and professionalism. The GETA customs office has always had a bad reputation and I see no improvement.

If your package or letter doesn't have a tracking number or gets stuck in the greek customs , you have really low chances of getting it. Good luck also getting someone to speak in the Customer Service dep. This is another public service that got severely handicapped by the corrupted Greek Goverment (ND) , a ridiculous situation.

I had an order that was held in customs for over a month. I received no communication or notice about this. I was advised by my vendor to get in touch with them directly so they provided Elta's tracking page for my order which also had the phone number and email address. I emailed Elta's main office about my parcel and asked if it can be released from customs. I got a reply 3(!) weeks later! No explanation or apology for the lateness however it was written in good English and they were nice enough to advise me on what to do next to get my parcel released from customs. I did what they asked me, which was to confirm that the items are for personal use only and nothing contained prescription drugs. I received no further communication but was able to see on the tracking page that my parcel was released from customs within a few days which made me happy. However this is where the real trouble began as my parcel arrived at one of Elta's Post Offices, rather than the delivery address. Check my other reviews if you want to see what happened there. So long story short, after not getting help from the post office or any greek people online they sent my parcel back to the vendor as they refused to deliver it to the address. Everyone kept saying I need to go pick up my parcel from the post office but I was unable to do that as I was not in the country. I sent another email to the main office asking them to deliver the parcel to the address and tried calling their number as well but this time got no answer anywhere. They really should just deliver to the address. Imagine if it's a disabled person or someone who is unable to pick up their order from a post office for whatever reason. And surely it must cost a lot more to keep returning packages rather than delivering them to the intended address.
