Λ	ΛΥΚΟΥΡΓΟΣ ΜΥΤΙΛΗΝΑΙΟΣ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ένας Ιερός Ναός, στο κέντρο της Αθήνας, κρυμμένος όμως, μέσα στα στενά. Εντύπωση μου προκάλεσε η χορωδία που έψαλε μαζί με τους ψάλτες. A Holy Temple, in the center of Athens, but hidden in the alleys. I was impressed by the choir that sang along with the singers.

Ν	ΝΙΚΟΣ ΝΙΚΟΛΙΔΑΚΗΣ on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Όμορφη παλιά Εκκλησία, με ωραίο και κυρίως ήσυχο χώρο στο πίσω μέρος όπου μπορείς να καθησεις σε κάποιο από τα 2-3 Cafe που υπάρχουν. Το αξιοσημείωτο είναι ότι ενώ είναι σε πολύ κεντρικό σημείο της Αθήνας, ουσιαστικά λίγες δεκάδες μέτρα από την Σταδίου, το σημείο είναι πολύ ήσυχο για 1 επίσκεψη στον Ναό, και για να απολαύσει κάποιος τον καφέ του! Beautiful old Church, with a nice and mostly quiet space at the back where you can sit in one of the 2-3 Cafe that exists. The remarkable thing is that while it is in a very central part of Athens, essentially a few tens of meters from the Stadium, the place is very quiet for 1 visit to the Temple, and for someone to enjoy their coffee!

Το λίγο σκοτεινό εσωτερικό της (ίσως λόγω προσανατολισμού, κτηρίων τριγύρω και εσωτερικού διακόσμου), την κάνει πιο απόκοσμη και μυστηριακή. Ήσυχη, αρχοντική, με ωραία ιστορία και καταπληκτική χορωδία, δεν είναι τυχαίο που οι γνώστες επιλέγουν τον Άη Γιώργη Καρύτση για τον γάμο τους. Ελπίζω σε γρήγορη αποκατάσταση της κεντρικής εισόδου που λόγω πτώσεως μαρμάρων είναι προσωρινά κλειστή. Αν αυτή η εκκλησία είχε περισσότερο «αέρα» τριγύρω της και μεγαλύτερη πλατεία, θα ήταν αναπόσπαστο τμήμα κάθε τουριστικού οδηγού Constantly the favorite church of many Athenians. For some reason it is not like the others. Its slightly dark interior (perhaps due to orientation, surrounding buildings and interior decoration), makes it more eerie and mysterious. Quiet, manorial, with a nice story and amazing choir, it is no coincidence that connoisseurs choose St. George Karytsis for their wedding. I hope for a quick restoration of the main entrance, which is temporarily closed due to a marble fall. If this church had more "air" around it and a bigger square, it would be an integral part of every tourist guide.

T	Thomas K on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful 19th century church in the center of Athens, in neo-Byzantine style. It’s easily accessible both from the metro station of Syntagma and Panepistimio (the latter is closer). The main gate is spectacular but sadly it’s closed, though you can enter from one of the side doors of the building. The interior is dark and calm, it gave me an intense sacramental feeling. Beautiful landmark that also gave the name to the square behind it, lined with a couple cafes. Also, in walking distance there are many amazing cafes and restaurants in the popular Kolokotroni street.
