★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Spontane Entdeckung bei Nacht, irgendwie sehr mysteriös. Bedeutung dieses Schreins ist mir noch nicht ganz klar. Nebenan ist ein steiniger Strand mit starkem Fischgeruch.
Alles sehr schön hergerichtet.
Nicht unbedingt ein Highlight, aber bei Aufenthalt in der nähe, ist es sicher angebracht sich hier mal umzuschauen.
Spontaneous discovery at night, somehow very mysterious. The meaning of this shrine is not clear to me yet. Next door is a stony beach with a strong fishy smell.
Everything was very well prepared.
Not a highlight, but if you stay nearby, it is certainly appropriate to look around here.

Right inside the Venetian medieval fortress wall, in a cave, there is an ancient paraklis with the miraculous image of the 15th century Panagia Megalomata - the Big Eye, written on stone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Μεγάλη η χάρη της. Δίπλα στην θάλασσα σε μια κοντινή μικρή ακρογιαλιά της πόλης της Κέρκυρας. Είναι μέσα στο παλιό βενετσιάνικο μουράγιο κάτω ακριβώς από την εκκλησία του Αγίου Ανδρέα . Για να την επισκεφτείς πρέπει μα κατέβεις από την πύλη του Αγίου Νικολάου και να πας αριστερά προς την παραλία .Αξίζει να την επισκεφτείς .
Great is her grace. By the sea on a nearby small beach in Corfu town. It is inside the old Venetian mouragio just below the church of Agios Andreas. To visit it you have to go down from the gate of Agios Nikolaos and go left to the beach. It is worth visiting.

Vom Parkplatz an Faliraki weißt ein kleines Schild den Weg am schmalen Kieselstrand entlang.
Wirklich sehenswert, aber winzig klein.
A beautiful little chapel is hidden under the quayside.
From the parking lot at Faliraki, a small sign tells the way along the narrow pebble beach.
Really worth seeing, but tiny.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hidden gem in the city walls of Corfu town. Go down to Faliraki, through St. Nicholas gate and turn left immediately to the small beach under the city wall. This small chapel is wonderful with a beautiful, though in bad condition, fresco of an icon. Small but charming and with a beautiful backdrop. Unfortunately no English information available.
