You are following the route from Nostimo and Agia Elias, because other routes shown by the maps lead to a dead end for a car and a road that at that time, in the last 3km, somewhere Kastanofyta had ice on the road.

A small nunnery recommended to me by the hospitable priest of the village Nostimo. When I arrived a militant nun explained a few things to me. A place where many do not know it is isolated where to be able to live there one needs great faith.

Beautiful monastery between the villages of Spilios (formerly Zigovista), Kerasonas, Agios Ilias and Damaskinia (Kozani prefecture). Built in a verdant location of Mount Voio. It belongs administratively to the prefecture of Kastoria but belongs to the metropolis of Sisani and Siatist. The original monastery was built in 1629 while it was renovated in 1747, the metochi was built in 1759 and the north side in 1760. In 1785m it was hagiographed by Michael Chionaditis and Dimitrios Borboutsiotis. From 1872 to 1885 it operated a school and reached 120 cells. On March 12, 1905, it was burned by the comedians of Kole Andriev since it was a base of Greek armed forces of the Macedonian Struggle. Only the katholikon (the church of Agios Athanasios) remained from the fire. In 1976 the church was restored and the construction of cells began. The temple is vaulted with a narthex and mainly temple to have approximately the same area. On the roof of the narthex is the Virgin Mary while in the main church is Christ. Nuns have been living since 2009 and today (2020) there are four. Their hospitality is excellent. Visitors' hours: every day 09.00-13.00 and 17.00-20.00. Liturgy takes place every Saturday and Sunday morning while every afternoon 18.00-20.00 the prayer of Agios Athanasios is sung.
