Hotel Cephalonia Palace - Xi Beach

5stars for the outside pool which is great! Even1 10 stars for 2 chcech animation girls Katerina and Barbara! (Top service with kids and baby sitting in the mini club Funtasia. Super satisfied! 4stars for beach that is realy few steps away from the hotel. Friendly hotel owner, waiters at dinner room. 2 stars for meal and drink all inclusive. We would expect more seafood than spaghetti wit small frozen schrimps. Big difference between the drinks prepared by morning waiter(girl dark hair-very najs and tasty drinks,blond girl afternoon bar- bad aervice,bad drinks). In general all inclusive covers very sweet drinks and awfull coke/tonic/juice machine that one is able to drink for one day.rest of your holiday you just drink beer and a clear water. Snacks in all iclusive is none except of dry cake from supermarket and ice cream that is hidden from visitors. Till 18h.after not possible. 3stars for hotel that need a lot of maintenance and reconstruction! Honestly a lot! Piiping water pipes,dirty balcony,open room for whole day after the cleaning lady didnd just closed our room (!) and no even appology from the hotel staff. Zero stars and again a huge call for action in terms of using too much plastic cups and tableware and creating enormous plastic waste in a day!!! Please change this very soon! You rather go in a different hotel if you insist on super service. Its good for families with kids as the animation girls were great.

Rooms very dated but clean enough. No lift to rooms for people with limited mobility. Food very limited and generally of poor quality, should never be a 4 star. Pool area very good. Staff friendly and helpful.

It is 30 years ago since my last visit to this hotel and it is worth a visit. A great family who still run it. The Cephalonian choice of food is a credit to the head chef. The gardens are lovely, the pool is imaculate and no need to fight for sunbeds. The animation team are too loud at times around the pool and could provide a good disco in the evenings but for some reason don't. The staff are friendly.

I liked: Nice location and beautiful beach Large swimming pool Unlimited drinks Food was tasty but it's variety was limited. I didn't like: Hotel rooms are way worse than advertised, bathroom is very small, and equipment in general is outdated Midday snacks are non-existent (event though they were advertised) No hotel gym Animation programs Slow and unstable WiFi connection Would have expected more for my money :)

Great place for family with childern. Not a luxury place but with lovely people, clean rooms and pool and really good food ( not fast food style ). Beach is really close, quiet and clean. Only a bit older rooms are gap to 5 star rating. Will come probably again. Regards to restaurant manager, great guy !

Nice clean quiet hotel with beautiful garden, two bars, pool and really perfect clean beach with red sand and crystal clear water. The rooms are clean, furniture rather as in 3 or 3,5 star hotel, not as in 4 star hotel in Germany or in the Czech Republic, bathroom is tiny. Wifi connection in every room, but paid (35 euros for a week). Staff is very friendly, polite. Food was all right, there is always something tasty. Hotel is close to the beach. Overall we enjoyed our holiday and recommend this hotel.

Simply superb! Not really sure why people seem to be looking for things to complain about. Seen a few reviews on here moaning about this and that, come on people you're on holiday, nothings ever going to be perfect St this price point, believe me I have had far worse holidays for more money! We were on all inclusive so this review is based on that. Food was pleantly full and very good, never had an issue with not bei g able to find a good few things to eat. Everything we all had was nice and warm. Some strange combinations but the majority of customers were from mainland Europe so likely some of the food combos were more for them. However everything was nice at all meals everyday of our stay. The ice cream was the high point, 5 flavors all very nice and you can help your self at lunch and dinner and get it at the pool bar too. Room was a little dated but as a veteran of years of 2 star Greek holidays I was very happy with how well appointed our room was. The beds were memory foam and fairly comfy as we're the pillows. Rooms were cleaned and beds made every day of out 7 day stay. Hot water was plentiful all day long, none of the usual solar hot water. The pool area was fantastic, my pet hate on holiday is having to fight for a sun bed or being down at 6am for the daily routine of putting towels out etc, none of that here. Reserving isn't aloud and happy to say people stick to this and most of the day you could get atleast 1 sun shade and a set of sun beds. There was extra shade available near the bar and lots and lots of extra sun beds piled up. Really very impressed with how well kept the whole area around the pool was, only slight complaint was the ground was a little rough but least it wasn't slippy! The animation guy was fantastic, seems there was also some polish (maybe) ladies who did the kids club but the guy who did the entertainment was really good and did a top job. The pool bar was great, the ladies on the bar did a good job and most of the time there was no queue. The soft drinks were very very strong but we just pit about 1/3rd soda water in each drink which sorted it out. There are a lot of single use plastics here as all drinks and plates at the pool have to be plastic but we just brought some reusable plastic drinks cups with us and washed them out which we felt helped keep down our plastic usage. Have to say the staff are very very hard working in a very hot country. The grounds staff and people in the restaurant worked long days and did a fantastic job. We only visited the beach a couple of times but it was only a short walk and just €8 a day for a sun shade and 3 sun beds, the beach was very clean and relaxing. Over all we lived it here and would definitely return.

Booked a room that said “4 people” on their website. Called to confirm it was for 4 people before the visit and they said yes. It did not say children under 12 which seems to be an operator error and a not up to date website. As soon as we got there One staff person threw a fit and refused to host us without charging us $200 more a night. We chose to leave even without having another place to stay. So much for “the client is always right”. Business must be booming for them to kick customers away.
